I would rather both of us BE WRONG and be happy but again I fear that we are Right and the misery continues
ive been so negative on things these past 10 years that i YEARN to be wrong. but then i realize who owns the team and know that im going to be right. damn shame. sell the team johnson.
Plus just think of all the loans with no payback ,car deals, discounts at movies and restaurants , ,dates with ex wives and girlfriends you get from the more “ persuasive “ guys when the vote comes down to the wire!!! Lol
i did. i live on the west coast and one of mu buddies is a niners fan. I've seen most of his games personally. i also watched the SB he was in obviously as i'm sure most here watch the SB. he was praising kap i said he isn't that good and isn't going to win you a SB. i won 200 bucks on that bet
While I've crucified Macc for skipping over Mahomes when we needed a FQ, and will continue to do so, that isn't the only reason I think he needs to go. As many have mentioned his draft picks after the 1st round are terrible with only a few exceptions (and before anyone tries to point out those exceptions as proof Macc is a better judge of talent than I give him credit for, remember the old saying: "Even a broken clock is right twice a day"). No, to jump on the statistic that tomdeb often uses, in 2017 Macc took FOUR DBs, and THREE Receivers! Meanwhile we had the aforementioned FQB hole, the longstanding Edge Rusher hole, the longstanding holes on the OL, and a dearth of prime skill position talent which his 2017 certainly didn't fix. Then in 2018, while he did finally go for a FQB, three of his 6 picks were on "D", none of which were Edge Rushers. My problem with Macc, as I've said many times before is that he doesn't seem to have a plan beyond "BPA first, last, and always"; there's no "method to his madness". But let me be clear: this is how I see things, without being privy to Macc's thought process, or any of the mountains of data and support staff he has. It could well be that he actually DOES have a plan, and that he's building according to that, and that given enough time - which so far the Johnson Boys seem to be giving him - will bear fruit. I really hope that's the case. I want to see another SB in my lifetime which is dwindling down to the backside, and I really don't want to see them have to start all over. But that said, I REALLY don't want to see them spinning their wheels, taking several more years to get to the playoffs, or god forbid, after two or three more years without making a SB run, they then decide start all over again. And given Macc's record so far, I have a bad feeling that this is where things are headed, and if that's the case, let's cut him loose now and not waste another couple of years.
You are partially right. I searched for all of my posts from 1/1/2017 through present where I mentioned Mahomes. and I discovered that I wasn't as solid in my belief in Mahomes as I remembered, but to say that "NC was totally against Mahomes" is not accurate. You also did a good job of cherry picking posts. I had tons of posts in April regarding Mahomes and more up through the end of that year and on to present. I just went back and read through all of my posts from 2017 regarding Mahomes, and I had forgotten how schizophrenic I was with Mahomes. I loved his arm talent, arm strength, ability to put the ball into tight windows, throw with various arm angles, etc., his ability to extend plays and his poise, but he scared me, and I talked myself out of him for several reasons. One, as I said above, I didn't think there was any possibility that Mac would have taken him after supposedly loving Hack and drafting him in the 2nd round the year before, and having drafted Petty in the 4th round the year before that and neither had gotten a shot yet, nor did I think he'd go with 3 rookie QBs. Two, I still blindly trusted Mac at that point, so thought if he had drafted Hack and Petty, it must have been for good reasons (that Hack or Petty were gonna develop). Three, I got scared about Mahomes' footwork and coming from the Air Raid offense, even though he wasn't a typical "Air Raid Offense QB." I thought he'd be yet another project at QB that would take a year or two to develop, and we'd have three basically project QBs taking snaps away from each other. I also didn't think a project QB should be taken at #6. Ironically, I saw posts where I said I would have taken him if the Jets had traded down to #12. Four, as a project, I thought he'd never develop under Bowles and Bates, yet somehow I thought that maybe Hack and Petty would. I don't understand what in the hell I was thinking there. LOL In one of my posts I even said that I wanted him to go to another team so he'd have a chance to develop and flourish, because I knew he wouldn't have that chance here. While I knew he had the potential to become great, I who advocate for taking risks all the time in order to achieve greatness, chickened out because I was afraid he wouldn't develop and would wind up being a bust. Five, I worried his arm/shoulder would give out from all the strain (a relevant post is below). I also searched for every post you made regarding Mahomes from the time that you joined this site. There were two pages of them, and the only post where I responded to you is below. I saw no post of Mahomes throwing from his knees or my responding negatively to you. I'm not doubting your word, but cannot find the post where I offended you. Please send it to me via private message. I will happily apologize. My apologies to Legler82, BigCat, and ColoradoContrails for trying to steal their thunder, albeit unintentionally, and the first two for doubting their QB acumen. Below are some of my posts from that period showing that I did like Mahomes, but yet my worries and fears as well as just thinking that Mac wasn't going to take him regardless.
Well, we don't have Mahomes but we have Sam with a bunch of surrounding talent If he is elusive behind the shaky OL we will score points and be competitive. The new vaunted Defense with all those picks?>>>>>>show up in 4th quarter please
I think you failed to account for last year's unused cap space. We're well above your estimated 12 mill. Currently over $26 million available ( per OTC) OVER $30 MILL (per ST)
It's all irrelevant at this point. Let's hope Darnold is our answer and if the Jets play the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Greg Williams can come up with as good a game plan as the hoodie and company did last season, and we shut Mahomes down.
I agree, thanks. We are in definite agreement about hoping that Darnold is our answer and that if we play the Chiefs in the SB that G. Williams can shut Mahomes down. It's all good.
I'd rather play the Patriots in the Super Bowl, I'm calling it this year Jets and Patriots in the super bowl
thats OK, no need for good CB play...we'll just put extreme heat on the opposing passer with our bounty of OLB rushers. LOL
