More intentional bullshit from you unless you are just too stupid to understand the English language. In no way, shape or form does the post you link indicate any displeasure whatsoever on my part and does nothing to support your bogus contention that I " didn't like how Maccagnan was fired..." Whoever would endorse your nonsense by clicking "Like" for that must be as brain dead as you are. To believe your nonsense one would need to disregard the fact that what you link was not even posted on the NY Jets forum but rather on the NFL forum and was prefaced with the bolded comment that appears here: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HAS BEEN INTENTIONALLY POSTED IN THE NFL FORUM FOR GENERAL DISCUSSION RATHER THAN IN THE JETS FORUM. The intent is that any comments made here abstain from reference to any particular persons but rather to the timing of making such a move. We don't need to rehash that which has already been beaten to death in numerous other threads. The post went on to discuss, strictly in general terms with an attached article, the timeline of duties and deadlines facing General Managers. If you cannot, or simply will not exhibit some basic honesty in your posting, why post at all?
You made it about me by posting the pure bullshit that I have highlighted above. Again, if you disagree with something I wrote, please address the subject but do it honestly. Leave the personal crap out of it; it's becoming tiresome and should qualify you for a vacation.
Raleturd you’ve always put way to much stock into ‘likes’. I remember you calling a poster out because they had less then you. You actually used that to try and make your argument stronger. It was laughable.
You spelled my name wrong. You're no one to talk about "laughable" with your recent claims on these forums.
Claims huh. I’m not sure what that even means. I bet nobody else knows either. It’s all in your head little buddy.
What personal crap? You've not agreed with much of anything the Jets have done since Maccagnan was fired. Prove me wrong. I'm responding to what you post. No personal crap needed or given.
I haven’t heard but I would imagine tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest . I am very anxious to hear what Douglas has to say and if he gives any insight into his plans as far as any possible player acquisitions this summer. I’m assuming he will talk about plans to redo the scouting dept and have a new staff ready to go for next off season...... OL , CB, WR, and pass rush are all priorities at this point but most of us are aware of this.
Some of the personal crap is addressed in post #222. A big lie is addressed in post #221 to which you have not responded. Your lies don't go away simply because you ignore them when you're shown to be wrong. If you write it, be man enough to own it. I also take it personally when you make up shit about what I have said rather than using my actual words. You may not understand this but I am free to be satisfied or dissatisfied, agree or disagree with anything I want to since 1964 or since MacCagnan was fired; it is not your position to analyze my posts, particularly when you get it wrong so often. And if you don't like what I wrote that's just too bad for you. Once again, if you take issue with something I have posted just refute that, leave the personal crap out of it. You are not free to create your own interpretation of what I have written and pass it off as fact here because you are invariably wrong.
Looking forward to his introductory presser. How do y'all feel about being linked to McShay? Are we Raiders East with a hire like that if it happens?
I was fully on board when the rumors were circulating about us hiring Jeremiah and I’m just as much on board with McShay. I think there’s definitely value in having guys like that in your organization. I know scouts do this anyway, but their jobs have been to research the draft top to bottom for years now and they are connected as well.
Good question. I'll be interested to see how others answer it. On one hand, it seems like a logical choice since the media scouting guys have spent a lot of time scouting and studying prospects, so they should be beneficial to our scouting dept. Mike Mayock was highly respected. So is Daniel Jeremiah. I'm not sure that Todd McShay is on the same level as either of them, however. I may be mistaken, but I think he set himself up as some kind of expert on QBs, but to my recollection, he's been wrong a lot more than he has been right, and we seemingly already have our QB. In the end, I'm just gonna trust Douglas because I don't know enough about him or the other prospective candidates.
It works in the short term, not long term. The Astros WS top pitcher Keuchel has been unsigned half the season. The list of the most advanced analytics teams in sports. Don't see the Cardinals on it. Just because you have a large group of bean counters does not make you successful. I would go with the George Steinbrenner method. Just go get the best at any cost. Boston Bruins Philadelphia 76ers Tampa Bay Rays San Antonio Spurs Oakland Athletics Buffalo Sabres Cleveland Indians New York Yankees Cleveland Browns
There are two key aspects of sports analytics — on-field and off-field analytics. On-field analytics deals with improving the on-field performance of teams and players. It digs deep into aspects such as game tactics and player fitness. Off-field analytics deals with the business side of sports. Off-field analytics focuses on helping a sport organisation or body surface patterns and insights through data that would help increase ticket and merchandise sales, improve fan engagement, etc. Off-field analytics essentially uses data to help rightsholders take decisions that would lead to higher growth and increased profitability. The new GM values production over projection which is what Macc valued and analytics. How did that work out for him and the Jets?
Huh? How on earth can you apply analytics to a high school baseball player? It still goes back to scouting and coaching. Vernon Gholston probably was off the charts...analytically.
Shitty La Canfora with an update. This guy has been with the Ravens since 1999. Assistant director of personnel since 2009 (Pro and College).
