Interesting read. Not trying to be a dick at all when I say this but try to add some bolds and underlines and such in there. Some of the information is a bit jumbled and makes it difficult to get through. I'd like to see us live to fight another day at corner. Campbell's a good enough prospect but he also played with an elite front four. I'd rather see us go IOL or even tackle there but I know you're in love with getting Little late. Edge should be consideration too. The best value at edge is going to be the bottom half of the first round this year. I think Maye commands a bit more money as will Scherff (All-Pro nod this year made his price tag skyrocket). We must keep Maye. I like the Sherman to safety idea but he's not a strong safety he'd be a free safety in this cover 3 scheme. If the Watson deal is going through it'll be well before the draft or else he's going to Miami.
He literally doesn't throw interceptions. He was also tied for second lowest fourth quarter interceptions in the league last year. https://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFC&type=Passing&rank=117&year=
it's better suited for the 3-4 and really just had the 1 good year. there is a reason indy traded him to us so cheap. he had a great year, cashed in but since has been outplayed by all our other d-lineman. I wouldn't waste any money on him. JFM, phillips, Q, shepard, foley, are all better lineman then him. i'd rather use that money to get solomon thomas who would replace anderson and be cheaper and who played with saleh as DC his whole career
I'd entertain edge for sure. but in my mock up we address edge (slightly) and IOL already. I wouldn't go IOL at all. we could go edge though also what would you suggest I underline or bold to make it easier to read? I can go back and edit it
The headers i.e. trades, cap impact. And logic: I don't like Thomas at all but the signing would make sense and would be low risk high reward. I think he's better suited as a 5T in a 3-4 honestly than to be playing end in the 4-3. Kerri Hyder might be a better bet.
thanks. I'll go back and do it. as far as thomas goes as you said it's low risk high reward. he's a "saleh guy" knows the system and solid run defender. he hasn't lived up to the 3rd overall hype obviously but had be been a 3rd or 4th rounder everyone would say he was a solid draft pick. he's like leonard williams was for us. good run defender. good teammate solid player but wasn't worth where he was drafted. makes sense to bring in some of salehs guys. he's been playing 4-3 DE in salehs system his whole career.
Much better. Also St. Brown isn't a slot receiver really at least not in the Crowder mold. He's play outside the numbers in the league. I like him though.
Well thought out GAC. Definitely an A for effort and creativity. Can’t see a deal for Watson that doesn’t include 2 so I think there were a few too many moving parts that make it a bit unrealistic for a 2nd year GM. Texans are going to want their choice of a QB not named Trevor Lawrence and that pick is worth a lot just by itself. I think the deal is going to be 2nd overall + 23rd overall and 34th overall. That gets them a new FQB for their franchise and 2 more nice picks to restock the cupboard. And we get Watson to rebuild the franchise.
I would be interested in going after Jamaal Williams from Green Bay. Coleman's health worries me quite a bit.
I think you may have st brown confused with someone else. he's a slot guy who likes working the middle of the field. here is my write up on him https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/after-1st-round-players-spotlight.95092/#post-4031977 here is a few others https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/amon-ra-st-brown/nyO1vNLDYM Amon-Ra St. Brown aligns at wide receiver for the Trojans offense, typically from the slot. He plays with very good overall athleticism, as evidenced by his body control and agility as a route-runner. His play embodies a blue-collar toughness and competitiveness rarely seen from a wide receiver. He is excellent in contested catch situations due to his competitiveness and big play ability. He excels between the numbers and is a threat in the short, intermediate, and deep passing game. He has excellent hand-eye coordination, which makes him efficient at catching targets. https://primetimesportstalk.com/2020/12/02/2021-nfl-draft-scouting-report-amon-ra-st-brown/ A year after the Indianapolis Colts selected Michael Pittman in the draft, the USC Trojans have another top receiver eligible for the draft. This year, it is Amon-Ra St. Brown. He is a true slot receiver and already has a sibling in the league, Equanimeous St. Brown, who is playing for the Green Bay Packers. The two are similar in some ways, but Amon-Ra is the better player. also thanks for the tips on the formatting. the OP looks much better now
taking on cooks is a value to houston in the trade. they need to move him for the cap room regardless
Nah I'm not. He's good at making contested catches and is pretty much a do-it-all receiver. His play style is very similar to Michael Pittman although he's faster and has a slighter frame. He operated in the slot in the Air-Raid. Point being that while he will do it, he's not really a quick-footed short shallow crossing kind of guy like Jarvis Landry or Crowder that are going to run short stick routes and make a guy miss. He'll be able to make plays down the field and contested catches over defenders. Reminds me a ton of Marqise Lee but I think he'll avoid the injury bug and be much better. He can play on the outside for sure. He was a monster when JT Daniels was there as a freshman on deep balls. Slovis is more of a floater kind of thrower.
I get he's a little taller then your typical slot guy. but I see him as a slot guy as well. he likes to work the middle of the field. he can also run the seam route up the middle. I do see what your saying though. he's kind of a do it all WR. i think he's better then pittman. I think he's kind of a swiss army knife for us and moves around depending who else we have. either way he seems like the perfect WR for this offense
Yes. He's definitely a good fit for what we need and versatile. I just don't believe he'll be limited to only being a slot guy as some of those reports seem to indicate. He can beat single coverage on the outside.
Still don't want him at the price it would take. Houston had far superior teams with Watson and still never got it done. If we're closer Still don't want him. If we had better talent yes it would make sense to give up alot but we aren't there yet. Houston had far better teams than the Jets and he still never got it done. I want Douglas and Saleh to develop this team while we got all these picks. Be leary also of players that want out.
