I don’t think Boyle is better than Zach…I think they both suck And while I don’t think Simian is much of an improvement either, and he’s not as physically gifted as Zach is, he has played better, though not recently. Personally, I think there were better options than Simian to be had, but being that we are here now, I’d have elevated Simian to #2 already. Then, I’d have him ready to go and if they really don’t want to bench Zach, I’d have Simian in reserve and ready to step in for the 2nd half if/when Zach gets us a whole 3 points in the first half. Not that Simian is a better QB, but sometime, a change just for the sake of change DOES light a spark. If you bring him in for the 2nd half, then you can still go either way the next game. If he does well you can have him start the next week, and if he shits the bed, then you can still bring in Zach the next week to start. You can have a talk track that holds water. Who knows…we DO have a ton of problems on O with Uzomah, Lazard, our OL, etc. It’s not ALL Zach. But what do we have to lose at this point? The season is slipping away. If Simian provides a spark, great! If not, you can still have Zach start the next week. At some point, you have to try SOMETHING. But doing what we’re doing, and making Carter the scapegoat, just reeks of bullshit to me. We’ll see what other changes happen…I’m hoping Ruckert takes Uzo’s snaps … we don’t need a TE who gets more penalties than catches. I’m hoping they start splitting Lazard’s snaps with others…Gipson, Taylor, Brownlee, whatever…let’s see if they can do anything because Lazard’s ratio of penalties and drops to catches sucks.
rome wasn't built in a day. if he took over the eagles GM job he'd have a largely winning record. he took over a team that had no talent and a lame duck HC. his 1st year was also after the offseason. he didn't have any chance to start fixing the roster until 2020. so he's had a total of 4 offseasons and took a roster from shit show into SB favorite before the season. he can't help injuries. Saleh could be doing a better job but considering how beat up we are every year it's hard to judge fairly. I mean everyone here seems to agree kyle shannahan is a good coach. he took over the niners in 2017. it took him 6 seasons to go positive on his record. he made the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years and the 1 year he didn't was a 6-10 season because they suffered injuries like we've had to deal with every year. it's hard for even the best coaches to overcome some injuries to the roster
thats the point of an old school forum like this. word limits are for less discussion and more fly by i want everyone to hear my 1 line opinion like twitter
i'm not but when a QB loses the locker room, beat writers jump on that kind of drama instantly for clicks hell beat writers are making shit up for clicks these days. troy aikman even took a "quote from Q" and Q came out and said I never even talked to him so no idea where that came from. Hughes or cimini (forgot which one) made up a quote about the team trashing izzy for carter when the video showed nothing of the sorts If there was a whiff of a mutiny we would know
I would certainly hope that locker room is not all smiles at the moment. They are in the middle of a rough losing streak
they already had a players only meeting tuesday. those don't happen when the locker room is all smiles.
Great, take it as a compliment. It certainly is not the first thing you've contradicted yourself about here.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about Wilson, keeping Boyle on the active roster over Semien is a crime. But it’s really not for the Jets brass. It’s just there to ensure that the backup is unbelievably worse than the starter so there can’t be too many cries for the backup.
I know quite well what contradiction is. It's after supporting a guy for years it's saying he sucks but then making excuses for his very existence and everything he does to prove he is not qualified for his job. It's refusing to call him the starter when he has started every game and played every snap since the season was two minutes old.
thats not contradiction. you can support someone with potential for years and after 2 years see he won't reach that potential and stop supporting him. it's like dating someone thinking they could be the one, but realizing after a couple years they aren't You can also think someone stinks but isn't a complete POS. thats not contradictory either. it's like seeing a girl and saying she's not hot, but she's not ugly, but she's below average. you can point out positives without defending someone. thats not contradictory. it's like seeing a fat girl and going she's fat and ugly but she's fun to hang out with and has a good personality. refusing to call him a starter is like refusing to call your side chick your girlfriend even tough your GF is out of town for 6 months so you been hanging with her all the time so again, you don't know what it means
If it means disagreeing with this dribble, I'm fine with that. You may be the only person in the United States that does not recognize Wilson is the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.
