He doesn't win those games alone. The Ravens are a better, more rounded team than the Bears. My point, since you want to be obtusely argumentative, is that if the Bears only rely on Justin to be their offense, eventually that will stop working.

Well it won’t stop working. It hasn’t worked because they aren’t winning games since the roster is awful. But he’s playing very well in spite of that. There’s no obtuse argument. I’m just watching football and calling a spade a spade.

Everyone here loooooooooooves to point out Josh Allen’s year two when talking about young QB progression. His year two is looking very close and he’s already surpassed his rushing numbers.

Not sure why we are back to hating on one QB In an attempt to make ours look better.

    That's not how It works.

    To play devils advocate though.

    We have the opposite problem.

If teams stop the run, Is Zach Wilson good enough to carry this team on his back In any similar fashion?

    I haven't seen It yet.

    Eventually...

ZW has to show that consistency and ability to be a FQB or we won't be winning many games moving forward either.

Justin Fields Is showing a lot of good right now and from the eye ball test alone, I still feel much better about Justin Fields In the NFL than I do about ZW right now.

That sucks for me. A lot actually.

I truly hope ZW Is the guy. He wasn't spectacular last week but we didn't lose In spite of him either. He played a much more professional game.

I still need to see him show us all at some point soon why we drafted him over, Justin Fields.

Wilson looked like a professional QB last week. Professional quarterbacks run a NFL offense and whether they are spectacular or unspectacular, they don’t question whether you think they should be in the league.

He’s scary because he’s played games that make folks question whether he should be in the league. No idea where the rush is coming from, throwing dreadful interceptions, etc. But even in this games, he also has a fantastic arm and great escapability which is what makes him such an enigma.

wow I disagree … there are many signs of a good coach, but one of the best ones is when you have a coach that makes the team better than you’d think they’d be based on the talent on the roster…or in other words, when the coach maximizes his players by putting them in the right scheme or utilizing them in the right spots. Belichick, as much as I hate him, is a master at that.

when I look at the Giants, that’s exactly what I see…I see a coach who has turned around their culture in year one, and who is getting way more out of that roster than anyone expected. Those are signs of a damn good coach.

That's as yet TBD regarding Zach being able to carry the team if they can't run.

As for drafting Fields over Zach, the offense that Saleh and MLF chose to run isn't based on a one man wrecking crew, and they didn't think Fields was suited for it apparently. It will be interesting to see if they were right. In the meantime, I have not doubts they took the right QB.

I'm saying Daboll is a good coach, but he's not as good as people are cracking him up to be.

Once again, no surprise, your inability to comprehend written English leads you to make claims about others that are quite simply untrue. Also no surprise is that in doing so you have no problem violating the rules of the forum in making personal attacks.

"Ripping someone apart" on the sideline is not at all the equivalent of taking one of the eleven spots on the field and giving it to someone when that player is not given a task to perform.

    Grow the fuck up!

Fields is playing terrific right now, and had another great game today. He did throw pick 6 - very similar throw as Zach made against NE - trying to throw the ball away, but not throwing far enough. Other than that, looked fantastic. Right now Fields is ahead based on performance, lack of injuries, etc, there is no doubt about it. However, Zach's last game was more than just professional. It was a really good game given the opposition. He did a lot more than not losing a game, there was a lot of positive from there. Let's see where he goes from here, if he can continue his climb against NE. At the end of the season we will have a much clearer picture whether we made a mistake or not drafting him. Fields was bad first 6 games too for the most part.

Also, I am not sure if Fields can handle this type of beating. Lamar could, but the jury is still out on Justin. I still think the best bet is to have a great passing QB who can get some yards on the ground when needed. There are not that many guys who can last while running as much or more than Lamar does. Not that Zach has been a great passing QB in NFL, but it's not out of realm of possibility he can become one and I want to see the rest of the season before passing judgement on drafting him #2.

Obviously unspectacular QBs, more times than not, fail out of the league.

So, clearly, as a fan... I'm okay with wins, as long as they keep coming. However, more times than not, QBs hat have struggled In similar fashion to Zach Wilson haven't panned out. So, I would rather root for spectacular, better odds.

    n... such.

Yeah, you’re right. Justin sucks. His development has been utter shit. After the pick 6 he did what? Oh but they still lost cause of him right?

Hownay Superbowls has Lamar won? For that matter how many playoff games?

How many run first Qbs have won a Superbowl?

Running and athletic QBs have been become more important in the NFL but running or run first Qbs do not win you Superbowls.

It is a great way to give you time to develop as a QB if you take the time to learn.

Fair, but it’s a pretty small sample size. The league has only really embraced the running quarterback over the last decade. Even when Michael Vick came into the league, there was no offense built for him. It was just a pro style offense with a really fast scrambler.

We’re going to start seeing more and more Lamar types. Football coaches at the youth level are now putting their better athletes at QB rather than receiver or runningback.

I think we are seeing more athletic QBs no question. Run first QBs are more successful because of rule changes but run first QBs still do not win in the postseason in the NFL. I think Fields is a better pure thrower of the ball than Lamar and will eventually turn into a pass first QB ie Josh Allen.

I ultimately think Zach will be the better QB but that takes nothing away from Fields and only time will tell.

I think these running QBs sometimes have an easier ramp up time because when they are that good, they can turn busted plays into huge gains…it gives them some cover until they develop in the passing game. Some do some don’t.

I also agree that more and more coaches are calling more straight QB runs….the Ravens have been doing it for years, but other teams are getting on the bandwagon.

defenses will adjust eventually…they’ll set spies on the QB, stuff like that…otherwise a good running QB can kill a man to man defense consistently…

I wasn’t a big fan of Fields as I don’t think he’s a particularly good QB…he has a strong arm and can hit guys deep if he has time and separation from his receivers, but he’s not an NFL passing QB yet. Maybe he’ll develop…we’ll see.

right now you need to contain his run game and force him to hit tight throws under pressure…
