We should be taking shots like the Wilson deep pass like 4+ times a game… Where are the designed rollouts? The screen game is non-existent WR or RB for that matter The only thing we do that Zach seems to succeed in is the RPO The majority of the passing game are long developing/ intermediate which isn’t good with our Oline, and leads to Wilson scrambling around like a chicken with his head cut off Zach obviously needs to help himself, but the overall philosophy and game planning is not good. How do you not get the ball to Moore in space multiple times every game? How do you not send Mims deep a few times a game in a 1 on 1 situation and air it out? The “system” blows
He played a nice first half take away the first pick. QBs sail balls a fromtimw to time. We are never winning running the ball 13 times and very few NFL teams are either. That is a different game and feel if JMF doesn’t roughy he passer. Went from 17-3 to next time Zach touched the ball we were no behind. I thought defense was shit today. Couldn’t get off the field in 3rd down to save their life. The kid has to learn to give up on a play.
Im not excusing Zach at all, he played poorly…the INT at the end of the 1st half in particular just can’t happen. But what did I say that’s wrong? We drafted a gunslinger with a rocket arm and don’t even use our weapons correctly. A screen game could help a bad Oline and lift up the QB but we don’t believe in this apparently. No designed rollouts with a QB built for it? The misuse of Elijah Moore the whole season is insane to me
As a Raider fan I can say I'd much rather be 5 - 3 than say, 2 - 5. Zach's propensity to throw off his back foot is definitely concerning but he is 4 - 1 as a starter this year. Am I wrong? Belicheck has a habit of making QBs look bad. Especially young ones. He's getting this whole year anyway, so no reason to cut him after every game.
We would have had a grip on three #1 picks...and a pair of #2's....or one #2 and four #1's. Yeah, I'd love to get a grip on those !!
The responses in this thread are way worse then Zach’s game today. Most of you are in the business of instant gratification. And it’s not being met. So let’s get rid of Zach already. He’s not a finished product.
Just watched the 3rd qtr. and some of the 4th.... Saleh should have sat Zach after that 3rd int. There was nothing to gain at that point... Zach wasn't getting good reps or experience. Not only would it have sent a message to the team & the fans... it would have given White the opportunity to pull a win out. That's a failure of leadership... and a demerit on him. p.s. those black uniforms suck ass.
Win-loss record doesn't mean much when the player in question isn't responsible for the wins; as an extreme example, Joey Gallo won 110 games last year.
It's a HUGE problem because it's such a basic mistake and he makes it on simple throws several times a game. It'd be one thing if it was 1 or 2 times. It's more like 7-8 times a game. He threw the ball to McCourtney while trying to throw it out of bounds. I never knew throwing a ball out of bounds was so difficult. This wasn't Belichick's defense, this was a guy who looks like he has no business beina a starter in the NFL. He better get better fast.
At BYU, Zach would make a play before the defender closed in. He thought he could on that play, panicked when he realized he couldn't, and threw the ball without considering how far he was from the sideline.
The OL isn't the problem though. He Is constantly negating the OL because he has happy feet In the pocket, itching to roll out In an attempt to make some top 10 highlight on ESPN. Problem Is, he's not good enough for that right now. The kid needs to work on his footwork, pocket presence, accuracy, field vision, etc.. He's a hot mess through and through right now. Fuck that. He has consistently been a hot mess his ENTIRE career thus far. Sanchez and Darnold both looked better up to this point In their respective careers. Which Isn't a good thing for our current situation. You don't draft a FQB at #2 In the draft for him to roll out every other play. He NEEDS to play like a professional QB In the NFL. We as fans need him to play like a professional QB In the NFL. If you are constantly rolling out, btw, you immediately eliminate an ENTIRE half of the field, which makes you predictable, which then gets stuffed on a regular basis because any defensive coordinator with a brain Is going to know how to lock down half of the field because our "FQB" Is only good at rolling out of the pocket.. Which, btw, I don't even trust him to do that right now. Did you not see the two God awful INT's he threw outside of the pocket? No... The kid has to grow up and grow up fast. This isn't about catering to him anymore, it's about him growing a brain and using It. He gets paid how much money to do this shit? Time to figure It out. Step up In the pocket. Be a FQB, and throw the ball accurately In the pocket. Oh, right. Accuracy. Fuck.
You must be a long timer. So we should wait for alzach another year or two? Or he might get it this year?
Still got to give it time. QB’s gonna throw dumb picks all the time no matter what, it was a bad game. You guys gonna chastise and want to get rid of anyone who would have a game like that. You stick it out
