Don't blame LaFleur or anyone on offense (aside from that dreadful drop by Mims in the 1st). It was on Zach. He got the yips, indecisive and got lucky on a few should have been picks Defense let up a few big plays and had some missed tackles but were very good overall yet again. Any other starting QB in the league and the Jets would have won. Not sure if this is the end for Zach but he'll probably get more starts. Its so disappointing this is how he showed up for this game while his counterpart from the same draft completed like 90% of his passes
This. LaFleur has his issues, but when the QB can't even hit a wide open receiver who stands five yards from him with no pressure in his face, then there's not much the OC can do to impact the game in a positive way.
I get It, this loss was fucking awful.... but the duality of the situation Is that we have to know, without a doubt, what we have In, Zach Wilson. None of us thought we would really have a chance at the playoffs this year anyway.. this Is all a bonus If I'm honest. However.. Even the casual fan could see how amazing our defense Is and how far away we are at the QB position. In no world do I feel okay about Mac Jones completely outplaying Zach Wilson. ..and If we are honest. Mac Jones had It so much harder In comparison. The Patriots D Is good but ours Is just better. Nobody can tell me otherwise, It's obvious. If we had competent QB play, we win both of those games against the Pats this year.
Saleh "didn’t consider benching Zach Wilson"? Are you friggin' kidding me? How fragile is this kid's psyche that you have to say bullsh*t like this as a head coach? Yes. Coddle Zach even more. Sacrifice the team's success at the feet of a kid who hasn't earned the right to start right now.
We can fire the OC because of his tendency to fantasize that his QB is capable of doing things he can't do.
Kinda hard when the QB can’t even hit a wide open Wr or hit one open in the flats. Or step up in the pocket and throw the ball away instead of spinning like a ballerina for a sack
Wilson should have been picked off twice as well. This wasn’t just the wind. Mims looks like a player too. This receiving core with Davis, mims, Wilson and Moore is AMAZING. We have two decent TEs. He had time. It makes no sense the offense is this bad.
And then he'll go to another team and have a top 10 offense, which we could have had with him if we just got a mediocre QB in there.
This one is tough to swallow. I was expecting Zach to continue his rebound, but instead he plays by far the worst game of the season. That's two awful performances in 3 weeks - and with the bye week to prepare. Tough tough loss.
I think we know now. Can't even hit a wide open receiver a few yards away. He missed on that type of pass multiple times. We know what we have in him and it's time to move on before we waste more of the valuable time we have with a team that is this otherwise very good.
After this game I’m out on Zach Wilson, and Robert Saleh, by refusing to do what needs to be done, is dead to me as well.
This is solely on Zach. Yeah MLF called a shit game. He couldn’t hit the wide out passes. For this that are blaming on Saleh for not benching him, remember ZW won the game vs Pittsburgh and Bills on 4thQ. punt against the wind yeah he could have punt out of bounds. But then again with 2 TOs, Pats still had a shot That one hurt.
Saleh immediately shuts down Mike White talk, says he didn’t not even consider taking Zach off. Clueless
