I hear you, that was piss-poor DB play. To add to it, I think he might've been pressured a handful of times tonight and has been throwing to wide open guys for the most part. He's showing nice zip on his throws and looks like an athlete both in and out of the pocket. The play that pops out to me the most was a third down play in 1st quarter; he made a nice move in the pocket and threw a laser at an awkward angle for a first down. It will be an interesting debate as to what to do at #2 for sure. There is no doubt it my mind that the Jets will be taking either Fields or Wilson though.
This comment has me sold. This dude is Mahomes all over again. Can’t even remember how many arguments I got into on here over Mahomes tight window throws that “would’ve been picks in the NFL”
Yeah man. I hit it at 74. It ballooned to 79.5 before kickoff. Don't insult Mahomes arm like that. There's no comparison.
Noticed this as well, he's had a clean pocket the entire game. Having said that I have liked what I've seen. Accurate, quick release, clearly going through progressions.
Sorry man. It's not even in the same city as Mahomes. That's not an insult because no one has his arm talent whatsoever. Deep ball throws to wide open receivers against an FCS team. Check out the throw at 1:16. Same sort of throw maybe a little less distance. This guy also didn't have an NFL arm and the league knew it.
One is a 50 yard throw with a crow hop and windup, the other is a 60 yard throw with the flick of a wrist. Why does competition level matter when you’re assessing arm strength? He completed a pass 60 yards in the air and his receiver never broke stride. Also that DB was only trailing by a step.
