I'm fine with him getting benched, he's been dogshit since day one. But inactive? Really smells like management is following the fans and the newspapers with this one. Got a bad feeling about this.
It makes sense if they're honest about giving him a chance for a full reset. Hard to focus on improving if you're worrying about executing a game-plan, installing plays, etc.
or there's something going on in the lockerroom..... or coach didnt like Zach's response to being moved to #2. I know a QB will ALWAYS be treated differently, but based on how the WRs that got mouthy were treated....
Everything about Zach’s game is suspect right now. He is clearly completely overwhelmed and it’s affecting the things he’s supposedly good at. Missing a half of football isn’t fixing him.
Here's the full transcript of the question and Saleh's answer. Q: "Robert, you mentioned some frustration. What was Zach's reaction when you gave him the news?" A: "Uhh, what you would expect from a player that you know he's...umm he's...he's not ready for that, not that he's not ready but it's like, why now? why me? I wanna play and you know obviously you...but you expect that and uh...but after a great conversation um...I think we're on the same page. Umm...is he...does he wanna be on the field? Of course he does. Uh...he's, but I know if there's anyone that's gonna be on the sideline cheering and rooting his teammates on and hoping Mike White freaking dominates, it's gonna be him." So again, where in his answer does he say these are Zach's exact comments? If anyone would like to judge for themselves, I'll link the presser below (question gets asked at about the 13:57 point in the video).
smfh yeah Saleh coaches according to what Cimini writes... YOu watch and see Zach is all messed up... why would he wanna stick him in there if MW gets a ding?
Hope you’re right, but this is a franchise that seems to take PR much more serious than anything else. Remember “you can never have enough Tebow?”
Blame Twitter, the place where context means whatever the poster wants and truth has nothing to do with it.
Zach needs to sit for the rest of the season unless we fall out of playoff contention. Maybe, he needs to sit forever. His issues will not be fixed intra-season. I expect White to be an upgrade, but I would be shocked if he is the long term answer. I would like to know the scoop on Streveler. He sure looked terrific in pre-season. Seemed to have all the tools. He completed about 67% of his passes in very limited NFL action. The only real negative in his CFL-NFL stats was a lot of ints in his 2019 CFL stats. He brings a legit QB running dimension to the field. So, has he not performed well in practice ??? Anybody know. Not saying he should be the guy, just asking if he has gotten a fair look.
Remember a few weeks ago when Flacco was demoted, and White promoted to BU? I think (perhaps) that move was a precursor to today's move. Saleh saw it coming a few weeks ago, and wanted Mike White as his go-to QB, which puts Flacco back at BU. For now.
I don't think Zach being inactive is about the fans, I think it's about his postgame presser and how the locker room received it.
You don’t, he is toast and I don’t even think he is going to have a back up career like Geno and Darnold might if he could ever stay healthy.
