Glad to see my thread lives on and more people are agreeing . Gonna laugh if he plays better than all our WR's this year.
Hindsight is 20/20. If Braylon got injured in 2011-2012 and ended up being injured and cut people would be one here saying "See Tone was the right choice". Oh that actually happened... Again hindsight is 20/20. Looking back we never should have drafted Gholston. Glad to see everyone agrees with me on that.
Same the 2011 offseason he was expected to make around 7-9 million because he was the 2nd best reciever on the market behind Holmes who made 10 mill. As it played out, many teams found other recievers and eventually it got to the point where not a single team even need a good WR. 49ers gave him 3.5 million and he ran with it. The Jets paid Plax 3 mil about 2 weeks before because they thought Braylon was worth 9 millionish. If the Jets had known he wouldve been so cheap, then there was no chance we didnt resign him. But thats what happens when you have a lockout shortened free agency that was complete insanity the way it played out. If the lockout never happened, I strongly believe both Braylon and Holmes woulda been resigned.
Ding! Probably not his wife, but when Tanny opted to pay Holmes and low ball Bray I have a feeling Bray exploded in Tanny's face. Said a ton of shit that pretty much sealed his time with the Jets, never to return. SOMETHING had to have happened around that time. Bray as a fan fav, a Sanchez fav, very capable receiver that had cured his dropsies and was willing to take a pay cut (later) to play in NY yet Tanny wanted nothing to do with him. Yup, something NASTY went down, and knowing Bray's temper who can doubt it?
He hasn't been a Jet in 2 years. Get over it. I'd like Braylon on this team but there are a million people I'd like on this team. Theres a reason they Jets have shown 0 interest in bringing him back. Besides the fact that he had a horrible season last year and got injured I'm sure there are a lot of reasons the Jets don't want to bring in another trouble maker into this lockerroom.
This is an amazing accomplishment in trolling. Nevermind that Braylon Edwards wasn't healthy, wouldn't have helped us last year, and has done little this year.
If T-Bomb decided to fuck Braylon because Bray let his temper explode on his face, then he doesn't deserve to be a GM. His goal is not to show the players who the boss is. His fucking job is to get the best possible talent. I doubt if that is what happened - I do get ultra-critical when it comes to T-Bomb but this is just so unprofessional.
Bray probably screamed something like "Are you fucking kidding me? Holmes? FUCKING SANTONIO HOLMES??? That little self centered dick of a bastard will divide the team and I guarantee that little puke will quit in a critical game and get kicked off the field!!!!!!!!!!"
again...the jets arent going to be able to acquire BE for a 7th nor will he but cut. Reality is, the Jets are one of 31 teams that didn't sign him. A healthy BE would help any team in the league. He worked out for a few who passed up on him including the Miami Dolphins who are worse off at WR then we are. If there was no question about BE heading into it a) he would command more than the minimum and b) he would have been signed in April. The Seahawks took a chance on him and won. It's that simple. There are a plethora of reasons we werent able to keep him and reasons he wasn't brought back. MOVE ON! Instead of focusing on the past how about we talk about guys who have been cut who can be brought in to help the team, such as Jabar Gaffney.
It wasnt hindsight at all. Many posters on this board have been saying for quite a while that we should bring back Braylon Edwards.
If you wanted to get rid of Holmes because of his character then it wouldn't make sense to bring in BE, he's cut from the same cloth plus he has brick hands. I don't like Holmes and I would have preferred they didn't resign him after last season but he is better than BE. Plaxico had a purpose and he fulfilled that just fine last season catching TDs in endzone. Else wise he didn't have the speed to get separation. As for why the Jets didn't resign him or BE. or why they got rid of Cotchery I couldn't say. Their personnel decisions are hard to make heads or tales of. They can't make up their mind what they want to be on offense.
It is hindsight because nobody really started making the push until after 8-5 turned into 8-8 and the MIA game. By making a push I mean seeing Braylon's name in every other thread. Yes people always wanted Tone or Braylon, but nobody started posting about Braylon or making threads left and right until now. It's not like Braylon was one incident away from being suspended for a long time or supposedly got into a fight at the beginning of FA or anything. I understand completely why they didn't sign Braylon 2 years ago. I don't understand why they chased Aso.
