I was driving home and a buddy of mine called and told me what happened. My reaction - if it’s going to happen, it may as well be the first play of the game so we have the entire game to come back. I simply wasn’t concerned. If Sam is calm, I’m calm.
As soon as he let it go I knew it wasn't good. But, like JetBlue said, if you're going to make a ridiculously jets-like mistake, do it on the first play of the game. I've seen way more miserable, soul-crashing mistakes out of this team.
I wasn't concerned. It wasn't the sort of interception Sanchez or Geno would throw, it was Darnold being a gunslinger and getting burned. A classic Favre INT. Or a Fitz INT but unlike Fitz, Darnold has the arm to back it up most of the time.
A classic Favre interception didn't worry you? After all Favre never learned. He was still making dumb rookie mistakes his last year in the NFL. There's being a gunslinger and being reckless, and imo, Favre was too often reckless.
Favre was one of the greatest QBs of all time. He carried the Packers for over 15 years and should definitely have won more than 1 SB. He has the record for most consecutive starts, won 3 straight MVPs, made 11 Pro Bowls, and was a first ballot hall of famer. If Darnold is the next Favre I will be thrilled to live with a few dumb INTs.
I guess the Giant fans were thinking that they made the right choice with Barkley. Later not so much.
I actually missed it. My YouTube TV was on a bad delay and a buddy of mine sent a text that he threw a pick-6. I refreshed the feed and Detroit was taking the XPA.
Fair enough, but some of his dumb INT's were in the playoffs that cost his team a chance to reach the Super Bowl. This one comes to mind.
You're not telling me anything that I don't know. My second favorite team is the Packers, and most years, have provided my only joy watching the NFL. I used to love Favre, but no more. The way he yo-yoed about retiring and jerked the Packers around, then used the Jets, he can go eff himself, but he could have been the greatest of all time if he had just learned a little discipline. As EnunwaFan said, he cost the Packers a fair amount of wins too, with dumb, untimely picks.
