Assuming no major FA splashes or miracle trades and restructurings, this would be a decent roster for a transition year.

QB: M. Sanchez, G. McElroy, Sean Renfree (UDFA)
RB: Fred Jackson (FA), B. Powell, J. McKnight
FB: Lonnie Pryor (6th), J. Baker
    WRs: S.Holmes, B. Edwards, S. Hill, J. Kerley,
TE: Fred Davis (FA), J. Cumberland, H. Smith
    LT: D. Ferguson
LG: V. Ducasse, Earl Watford (7th)
C: N. Mangold, Joe Madsen (UDFA)
    RG: C. Warmack (1st)
RT: A. Howard, Reid Fragel (5th)

    DEs: M. Wilkerson, Q. Coples, M. DeVito
    NTs: S. Pouha, K. Ellis
OLB: Khaseem Greene (3rd), G. McIntyre, Gerald Hodges (4th), R. Sapp
    ILBs: D. Harris, D. Davis, N. Bellore
    CB: D. Revis, A. Cromartie, A. Berry, K. Wilson
    FS: L. Landry,

i like this one the best so far, with the exception of the WR's. We need to add atleast 1 midlevel free agent Josh Cribbs or somebody or we are gonna have the same problem we did last season

I'd be completely okay with this roster, even without adding a WR. You do make a good point in that if two receivers go down (or a WR and a TE), then our team would be in the same position as it was last year. I'm not sure that adding bodies will really help that. If the conditioning program is as bad as it was last year, then it won't matter how many bodies the Jets add to their roster -- they'll all end up injured!

QB:Arron Rodgers (traded for Revis and Sanchez)
    WR1:Calvin Johnson (traded for holmes)
WR2: Brandon Marshall (Sign and trade for Braylon Edwards)
RB1: Adrian Peterson (traded for Powell and Mcknight..Young Talent!)
TE: Jimmy Graham (traded for Bart Scott and Calvin Pace, saints need help on D!)

    See guys, we'll be fine.

This is probably more realistic than mine, as i think i may have just exceeded cap. I'd probably need to scale back a FA or resigning (although i love Vasquez).

Fred Jackson and Fred Davis would be interesting. I like cheap vets with the right attitude to start turning things around on O. injuries would have to be checked out first. Warmack and Elam are top prospects in positions of need, so i like them too.

My only complaint would be the offense just doesn't look upgraded enough overall. No one to compete with or replace Sanchez would be repeating the mistakes of 2012. Ducasse slated to start would make me nervous, and no real threat out of the backfield or TE slot. I know we can't do it all in 1 year...but i'd like to see us get a complete TE and a versatile RB in the draft if possible (along with an OG, which you addressed with Warmack).

I'll agree that the offense isn't upgraded enough, but for a different reason -- no change at the QB position. I just don't see the front office doing anything this year to change the Sanchez situation because all his money comes off the books next year. That will give Idzik and Rex, or whomever is his successor, a fresh start at the position with a tremendous amount of cap room. Barring any renegotiation by Sanchez, I think that this is the most realistic move by the Jets and extends the Sanchez experiment by another year.

I'll also disagree with threats out of the backfield and at the TE spot. Both Fred Davis and Fred Jackson are well-suited to the WCO in that they've got good hands, solid acceleration, and don't shy away from contact. In particular, Jackson is an excellent receiver in the flat and screen game, which, if the E-Gulls offense is an indicator, should be important in our offense. Fred Davis is a good, young replacement for Keller who has an extra gear and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

I should also note that we both agree that building through the draft is the way to go as it will permit keeping some of our prized players while allowing the Jets to start the revolving door at other spots.

Fred Jackson is old as shit, Gio Bernard is a better pick. Trade Revis, we'll get him at the end of the first round.

BTW - Warmack is a LG

Fred Jackson is not a free agent.

Greene and Hodges are 4-3 olbs, not 3-4 olbs.

Since many have said the last round of cuts got he Jets about $7 million under the cap and the cap is projected to be around $121 million, these numbers look to be accurate. So figuring the $6 million the Jets need to sign rookies, that leaves about $1 million to sign anyone not on this list. Anyone want to look at their roster again?

    Cut Tebow and Pouha

Don't re-sign(as if the Jets want to re-sign or can afford them)Moore,Greene,Keller,DeVito,Slausson,Landry,Bell, etc. The Jets should get the 4 compensatory picks in 2014.

    Trade Revis

The Jets are stuck with the other bums.

Hope another team extends a decent offer sheet to Howard. Get 2nd rounder.

Hope the cap is set at $122M. More room for 2 or 3 $500,000 players.

If its possible to trade Cromartie and Revis in the same off-season,do it.

    Realistic roster

    QB-Sanchez
    RB-Powell/McKnight
    LT-Ferguson
    LG-Ducasse
    C-Mangold
    RG-?
    RT-?
    WR-Holmes,Kerley,Hill
    TE-Cumberland,?

    DE-Wilkerson,Coples
    NT-Ellis
    OLB-?,McIntyre(by default)
    ILB-Harris,Davis
    CB-Cromartie?,Wilson
    S-?,?

    4-12 here we come.

Draft best players available. Trade down accumulate picks. Trade Revis. College free agents should flock to the Jets. Young and cheap.

With this roster you expect 4-12? More like 0-16, maybe 1-15.

If I see: "FS: LaRon Landry" another time I'm going to scream. He's not a FS. He's a SS. I realize he played FS for the Jets last season but he was playing out of position and thus was rated one of the worst safeties in pass coverage in 2012. He's a SS. If he's somehow magically retained, it will be as a SS. They can't possibly re-sign both him and Bell again and for the fourth straight year ignore the FS position, can they? Can they!? :breakdance:

The Jets don't have much cap space. I know its all for fun. If you look at some of these roster projections, where is the money coming from? Can the NFL record the conversation between Izdik and Holmes agent when Idzik informs him about taking a pay cut? Have a camera on Santonio. Must see TV. Motherfuckers want to cut my pay. They shouldn't restructure contracts which come back to bite them in future years. Maybe the Jets should cut Holmes. They save $1M. Get rid of a bad guy.

Unless Holmes' injury affects him deeply, who will we get for $1 mil that can produce as much or more than Holmes?

I understand the salary cap and all, but if we get rid of Landry, Cromartie, and Revis, what do we have? No LBs, no DBs.
