This scenario could work if Mariota,White/Cooper or Williams is there at 6. Perhaps not CLE but 1st and 2nd from some1 else or NO 13/31...
Ideal scenario is we land Winston somehow in first and pass rusher in 2nd. 2nd best we trade down with cleveland and grab best pass rusher and best OTwith their picks and then Wide receiver at top of 2nd
Dante Fowler jr. falls to #6. But it won't happen. One that might actually happen (although extremely unlikely), Mariota falls to us, we find a sucker willing to trade up for maybe the most overrated QB prospect in the history of the draft, and we end up with 2nd and 4th round picks this year (swapping 1st rounders with them of course), and a 1st rounder next year!
this draft is wayyyyy too deep at RB for Gurley to cause a sweepstakes. Gurley is a lock to there at 6...that wouldn't make anyone stand up and notice
Just like the Bengals franchise depended on drafting Akili Smith #3 overall? Or the Chargers franchise depended on Ryan Leaf at #2 overall? Or the Browns franchise depended on Tim Couch #1 overall? ...........or Jake Locker at #8? Mark Sanchez at #5, Blaine Gabbert at #10, Sam Bradford #1, JaMarcus Russell #1, David Carr #1, Byron Leftwich #7 ... I could go on and on .... the list of colossal 1st round busts at QB is huge! .....still think the franchise "depends" on trading up for Mariota?
Two scenarios would make me super happy. 1. We draft Cooper. 2. Mariota falls to 6 and someone wants to trade the farm for him (multiple first round picks and a second round pick or two).
I think you're right. But we're talking about best case scenario. A player a middle ten team wants bad falls to six. And we can get two good players instead of one.
Yes absolutely. Your crew of QBs busts are ancient history. Is a Carr a bust? Is Bridgewater? Even Garappolo will be good. We missed out last year and drafted who? A safety? Brilliant. We don't need defensive players. Not when your offense is shit. The trend is improving talent and the Jets can't afford to miss the boat
Those 3 Qbs are still unproven. Teddy and Carr were ok, Garappolo got no chance to play. We'll see how they do this year the same goes for Pryor. I wouldn't have drafted a Qb either after only one season with a rookie Qb who improved down the stretch. Of course who knew that he'd repeat 2013 in 2014. 20-20 hindsight for Jets fans is the norm.
