Huh, I was under the impression that Detroit liked Schwartz. Both of them took Was this '09 or '10 in Indy?
2009. It was 14-6, Calvin Pace I believe, killed Joseph Addai the moment Peyton handed it off, Leonhard recovered the ball. At that point I honestly was saying the Jets are actually going to the Super Bowl.... I still believe if we hadn't got that penalty on 2nd and 7 run that went for 5 yards (olineman got a penalty away from the play), the Jets were going to run the clock out and go into the half up 17-6 or 21-6 AND getting the ball back. Instead the penalty happens, its 2nd and 12, the Jets run it twice and kick the FG. Peyton goes down the field and the game changed from there.....
The fucking penalty on 2nd and 7 killed us, it was away from the play to.... This it where it changed though, Woody got a false start that had no impact on the play and was practically a milasecond off. Instead of a 3rd and 2, it was a 2nd and 12. Jets would have ran it for the first down easily, Peyton never gets the ball back, we go into halftime up 17-6 or 21-6 and would recieve the ball in the second half. Most of all Peyton, would not have deciphered our defense and gain confidence. Friggin sucks.....
That '09 OL has to be one of the better ones in NFL History... Brick-Fanica-Mangold-Moore-Woody. That is literally insane. Imagine Ivory running behind that line.
Probably Rex throwing Sanchez under the bus in Qtr 4 of preseason Week 3 and getting him injured for the season. Then again Sanchez didn't seem to give a crap.
Holy fuck I still have 2 bottles of this that I thought I'd be drinking when Rex and Mark and Bart and Braylon and Darrelle and Santonio and Brick and Nick and Kris and Dustin and Cro and Shonn and Calvin and David and Jim won us a Super Bowl. Mother fucker. And I hate Big Cabs. _
Nah that is ruined by the team being unprepared in the Championship game. Best Ryan moment for me will be when he is finally fired.
My fave Rex moment was when he was caught sneaking away to the Bahamas (or some such shitty place) with a fresh #6 jersey tattoo'd on his freckled flaccid arm. It was surreal.
Obviously the AFCCG's, but the whole foot thing was kinda entertaining too, his wife does have nice feet.
I remeber going to the pep rally at Florham Park with my then girlfreind who kept complaing about the cold before the AFC title game at the Steelers,It was very dull and the team just walked around in a circle for the crowd looking lifeless void of energy. At the time I thought it was a great moment to be a Jets fan but looking back on it now it fucking sucked,Firemen Ed led J E T s chants and MR T delivered a speech, there wasn't a very good energy overall and it was pretty boring honestlty. My girlfreind ended up staying in the car because it was freezing out leaving me to watch the pep rally that ended up being mediocre
My favorite moment hasn't happened yet, but it is coming: the day he is fired will be my favorite moment! He has been an overrated SOB wince day one. His reg season record is downright mediocre and if not for two great but flukey lost seasons he'd have been gone a long time ago. And don't get me started on his wonderful grasps FO he offensive side of the ball and his abilities to develop talent. Yep, the day he is fired will be my favorite day. I just hope we can find a good HC to succeed him.
The best game was the win in New England but I think the best moment came in San Diego during the 2009 playoffs. 4th and 1. Rex Ryan had the balls and confidence in his players to go for it. "Our best against their best." and the conversion sent the Jets to the AFC Championship Game.
