I started following the Jets in 1984, and my first hero was Freeman McNeil, but in '85 Ken O'brien became one of my favourite players and I'll never forget what he did at the start of the 1986 season. Since then I've liked Jeff Lageman, Marvin Jones, Al Toon, Rob Moore and Wayne Chrebet. Current favourite player would have to be Chad. But McNeil and O'Brien are the top two all-time.
I don't have favorite players...I root for the team, and I love everyone on the Jets about equally, unless you suck.
Ben Graham, the obvious choice for us Aussies. Lets just hope he doesn't have too much work to do this season.
Started following the Jets in 85 or 86(at the age of 10), about the time the Bears came rumbling into town. Had to pick a team, good thing (or maybe bad thing) Spidey was wearing a Jets T-Shirt. One thing I can say, is thank god for decent TV coverage we get now and be able to watch almost every match on the internet in the last year. Another player I really liked was Aaron Glenn and even Ottis Smith once he stopped trying to get an interception on every play, never seen a pair of shut-down corners like that since.
Obviously Chrebet. Small receiver not supposed to be in the big league who caught everything possible no matter what was hit was headed his way. He is pure class and pure JETS.
Favorites: Joe Klecko, Joe Namath, Curtis Martin Runners Up: Kyle Clifton, Mickey Shuler, Dennis Byrd, Wayne Chrebet
Retired: Dennis Byrd. I went to Hofstra (1992 grad). I met him between practices in 1990 at the Fuddrucker's in East Meadow. I was wearing my Shuler Jersey and he called me over and we sat and talked football for a 1/2 hour. Awesome... Today: Eric Coleman
Little Eddie Bell...#7....Anyone remember him? Emerson Boozer Joe Namath Mickey Shuler Greg Buttle Freeman McNeil Chad Pennington
