In 1989 Okoye lead the league in rushing with 1480 yards. Barry Sanders was second with 1470. Sanders could have won the title, but elected to sit out the final minutes of the season finale in Atlanta. The Lions won that sparsely attended game (7,092), 31-24. He did not like being called "The Bomb."
Yes, he was. Ran for 1015 yards in 1977 and led the league in fumbles in 1975. He was Randall's older brother.
Nobody has mentioned Lam Jones yet. The Texas Longhorns had two Johnny Jones and an A.J. Jones. One was nicknamed "Lam" because he was from Lampasas High School. The other Johnny was nicknamed "Ham." A.J. was nicknamed "Jam."

I tell ya what, look at photos of Randall Cunningham early on in his career. He would get thrown around like rag doll today. Now I know Tom Brady isn't huge, but still, it may as well have been Al Toon out there in the pocket. Some QB's today are practically yesterday's LBs as to build. So tell me, is something going on with football DNA or what? I know the face of the game has changed (diet, bigger, stronger, faster...genetic mutations?!), but I don't know, makes me feel finesse players are a lost art. Not that Cunningham was a finesse guy, just throwing that out there for fodder. Like in hockey, a Wayne Gretzky today would never even be able to HAVE a career for much the same reason. He'd never survive. Cunningham: Height: 6' 4'' Weight: 211 McNabb: Height: 6-2 Weight: 240 lbs. Roethlisberger: Height: 6'5" Weight: 241
Pennington: Height: 6-3 Weight: 225 Eli Manning: Height: 6-4 Weight: 218 Peyton Manning: Height: 6-5 Weight: 230
Yes, I know, but it seems like a general trend across the offensive board. Even still...211?! EDIT: Al Toon: Height: 6'4" Weight: 205 A six pound difference! Hehehe. From my own JETS mini-archive. Geez Louise, I loved that guy...What was this thread about again? Nicknames. Right.
Eli will put on more weight. Are those the lightest QBs in the league? Because you just proved her point.
