What kind of interest rate do you get on your liras over there? Because at today's rates a million bucks throws off jack in the US.

State Banks will give your US Dollar a yearly interest payment of 1% or so. But thru Private Banks you can get up to 2% or 2.5%

Turkish Lira is plummeting so very few people keep their investments in Lira. Almost everything will is done with Euro or USD

I live off of investment income (which does include some interest income.) I have a middle of the road aversion to risk and I am well divirsified. The last 3 years have been great. Last year I was over 20% That's not the norm though.

My goal is to long term average around 6-8 percent. 10 would be fantastic.

Well it was that or he was going to have to "kick you all around THE GANG GREEN"

I thought the villa thread would be long gone but it's still there.

Edit: Was this the thread that started the FBI threats? Couldn't quote it since it's locked.

"Hey jerk. I have read your posts about young boys and little children; YOU don't want me to get started on that. I promise you that. You are staring at somebody that will kick you all around THE GANG GREEN. Take the warning."

He also bragged about his condo in FL and that he would kick his ass in real life.

So many classics in his short lived time here.

I think this post as the start of the downward slope for him, he only lasted about 45 posts after it

Edit: It appears joejet was a douche before the above post, I just didn't go in the baseball threads

"Enough" in this context is a relative term.

Typically enough is to keep your life standards same so you don't sacrifice. I think that's what our resident grumpy D is trying to say.

Is this with the understanding that everyone's "standards" are not the same?

This is going bug me all day. Plus, I'm also now trying to remember the poster who was looking to brawl it out near the Piscataway T.G.I.Fridays after his shift was over.

I think we try to figure this out once every few years.

Applebee's guy, I always think it's Mike111111 or something like that who kept adding a 1 to his new usernames. I don't think that's right though. Maybe we need an archive for this stuff.

Hilarious! I was actually just thinking to myself, "Haven't we tried figuring this before?!"

    Sure enough. You're exactly right. => https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/remembering-the-retards.38348/page-2#post-1024142

Yep. If you are an ambitious guy who is used to flying business to his/her 2-3 vacations a year, if you have to fine dine a few times a month your “enough” will differ from our grumpy D who is super miser.

Bingo and having the knowledge and experience on how it is done.

Most people would be ruined if they lost everything. But if you know how to get to that point where you have a cash flow........if you did it once, you know you can do it again.

Also there are different definitions of being rich. Some people are "rich" but have six-seven figure bills annually and are basically just getting by with their lifestyle. While some people don't have a lot, but have enough in cash flow to never work again.

Id rather be the person with not much, but enough cash flow to never have to work for anyone again, rather than having constant pressure to pay the high bills for life decisions.
