Fitz cannot throw anything longer than 10-15 yards. Why are we continuing to try. Why in the HELL were the Jets running plays with 15 seconds left on the play clock. STUPID SHIT.

He also stares down his targets and doesn't go through his reads. He's missing opportunities for EASY first downs taking shots at Marshall who is double/triple covered.

The best thing Fitz did today was run the ball for 3 big first downs. I can't believe how bad some of the short flair passes looked. And Fitz, please stop chewing whatever it is you are chewing.

The two glaring issues I notice with Fitz are:

    1) Ridiculously bad accuracy on most of his deep throws.

    2) For a veteran quarterback, he throws into double coverage way, way, way way, way, way, way, way too much.

Geno has more talent. I don't think many would deny this.

I think Fitz has more respect, exp, and leadership qualities that he brings to this offense.

Right now, I think that is what keeps him as the starter. We are 3-1 with Fitz and we will hopefully get even better as we progress through this season.

You have to continue to play Fitz at this point, the latter is too much of a risk at this point and that makes it easy to stick it out with Fitz right now.

It's the smart play and I commend the CS for making the smart choice.

We as fans should know that is rare for this team, its a breath of fresh air for me right now.

agree with MD. as much as fitz is limiting this offense, you can't switch now.

It's enough that it could get us to the playoffs.

But his mistakes are bad enough that it'll cost us in the playoffs 100% of the time.

The thing you have to ask is how many wins would Geno guarantee as Fitz's replacement? Not much. I imagine he'd lose us more. As bad as Fitz gets, he won't make us shit the bed every week.

Geno Smith has nothing to do with Ryan Fitzpatrick sucking. Half the arguments here say nothing about making a change at the QB position yet the Geno haters or Fitzpatrick dick riders come yelling every time. Fitzpatrick needs to be better for us to actually win games that matter. So far he has looked like ass.. regardless of our record he has looked like ass. He is the QB for us and will continue to be the QB unless he completely shits the bed which I don't think will happen, there's too much talent surrounding him. So for now we all should be concerned about what he can do to get better rather than having pointless arguments about a possible replacement.

Well I hope the Beard flips and flops, and throws his duck passes for 10 more wins.

If we had Geno in there we would be 1-3 stead of 3-1

Thanks be to God Bowles doesn't listen to boo birds on TGG

Nothing is good enough for Jet fans . Pathetic

the first quarter of the season doesn't matter? I think maybe you've confused it with the preseason.

You can win games with a terrible QB, the Bears once went 13-3 with Rex Grossman. Learn to separate the team performance from the QB. Fitz is lousy, and the team will often win in spite of him this season (assuming he even holds on to the job)

So you're telling me that wins in September and October against the Dolphins and Browns are just as important or more important than playoff wins? Because this type of QB play will not win in the playoffs.

    Regarding Fitz...
He is an average quarterback. If he was any better than he is, the Jets wouldnt have been able to trade a 7th pick for him.
He is not Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady. Neither is Geno.
He needs Ivory running downhill, and Marshall and Decker to be successful.
He hasnt thrown any pick sixes or fumbled the ball in the backfield, despite pressure. He has remained composed.
He has thrown more TD's than pics. Most of the picks were when they were playing from behind and without Decker.
He led the Jets on several long TD drives in both the Colt and now Dolphin games to seal the victory.
He has used his scrambling capability to maintain drives.
He has decent chemistry with Marshall and Decker.
The Jets are 3-1 with him under center.

I'll take it. Its a great change from previous years.

But please Geno lovers, lets not make Geno out to be the second coming of Rogers or Brees.

He's an improvement over Geno, he was not supposed to be the next aaron rodgers. He's not gonna just start throwing 50yrd bullets at this point in his career. .so theres no point in hearing the same critisism week after week..let's just be happy that he's an improvement over geno and gives a chance at playoffs aND competitiveness which we haven't had in years..

Fitz is like that kid in school that does just enough during the school year to pass to the next grade. He is limited but just as long as he minimizes the turnovers and makes a few plays here and there and the defense and run game does its job, he'll be alright.

No, I'm saying the first quarter of the season matters. You can't get to the playoffs unless you win in the regular season and 25% of the regular season is behind us. Take your strawman and shove it.

I have never believed for one second that Fitz could win a SB this year.
