Anyone who thinks we will get Only a 2 nd plus a 3 rd rd pick for Revis is kidding themselves ! If we do in fact trade him it will be for a boatload.

Is anyone realistically going to pay Revis 15 million a year? That sounds like nonsense. Bailey is making slightly more than Revis at 11.5 mil. Would anyone offer Revis something better than 12-13 a year with an opt out if he isn't healthy?

Cro is going to cost 10.7 million in 2013 and 2014. If the Jets can get Revis at 12 to 13 mil a year they should, and trade Cro instead. Revis is 3 million dollars better than Cro, easily.

If some crazy team wants to pay Revis 15 mil per year, let him go for a first and a third, or whatever more you can get.

Remember, by 2014 we will have plenty of cap space, and not a whole lot of talent to sign unless something great comes around in free agency.

No team with two competent corners will bother. Revis is a season changer for a team like the Pats where they can't seem to draft decent corners and they're just a DB from the Super Bowl.

When Talib went down I knew they were fucked.

The thing is, the pats are in the division, and the pats usually don't overpay free agents.

It probably won't be a boatload for the simple reason that nobody is going to offer a boatload and the Jets are going to trade Revis.

The only way Revis doesn't get traded is if he creates the dynamic to stay on the Jets, which would require a 180 from the previous dynamic he established.

Not if Andrew Brandt is echoing how GMs across the league feels about Revis' negotiating stance:

In ESPN New York piece: espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/20395/brandt-on-revis-hell-never-be-happy

Taking Brandt's words to heart, it could be 2nd + 4th for 2013, and a conditional 2nd or 3rd in 2014 that ONLY becomes a #1 if Revis signs with the same team and stays healthy.

If the Jets offer him something in the 12-13 mil per year range, wouldn't it take a lot of balls from his camp not to take it coming off an ACL injury?

You really need to stop with the idiot idea that the Jets will ever trade him to New England.

I dont see this happening but I agree that why take Dee Milliner at 6 when you can get Revis and lose a conditional next year.

    We can all hope

I would be surprised if Revis stays in the AFC. I could certainly see him heading someplace in the NFC for a DP or two. I don't see a huge windfall of DP's (Hershel Walker) happening as the trading team would still have to convince DR to sign a reasonably long contract if they make the deal at all.

Yeah, I don't think that part would happen either, but they're a good example of the type of team that really could use a CB.

Why not simply wait the Jets out and not give anything at all? If you're a rival GM, you're gonna want to pay the minimum but you won't ignore the possibility that pressure from the fanbase would keep the Jets from doing anything with Revis in 2013.

It would be much easier to swoop in with an offer Revis couldn't refuse (perhaps the top dollar defensive player in the NFL) and get him at simply cost to the cap at the end of 2013. The Jets can't match any really big offer w/o gutting the roster and with the holdout history of Revis vs. Management, a cave-in at this point by the new GM would simply paint the new management as weak. Woody has a big enough PR problem as it is as the perception of his team isn't quite toxic yet, but definetly trending downards. To use a texas hold em metaphor, I would hold on Revis, wait and see what the other players offer, then go all in when it doesn't cost me a lot.
