Holmes is a scrub, nowhere near the value Revis is worth. It is unfortunate too, bc Holmes contract is a major reason we are going to lose #24.
so if Cro has value, how much more return would we get in a trade for Revis coming off injury as compared to Cro who's value is at highest? if 1st and 3rd for Revis (arguments sake), or 1st or 2nd for Cro, i'd deal Cro and lock up Revis long term. Harris would likely net a 3rd or 4th rounder at least, and also clears up 10mil space.
If Holmes is on the trading block there are a million nice things I could come up with, however Holmes is not on the trading block our star studded, diamond in the rough corner back is though. When you get dumped by your former team, where you were Super Bowl MVP, for 5th round draft pick; fail as a captain with said team; and end two season pouting, one after getting benched and the second after you injure your foot and throw the football to the other team, you're a scrub.
you wrote this If you meant that literally, that is where i disagree. Revis isn't really overpaid, as he is the top of his position. 15mil+ would be overpaid, if that is what he insists on. I would start by trading other players to free up space, but i would trade Revis if he insists on unreasonable contract or if return value is very nice. I agree with your comment of not using Revis and long term in same sentence though. he is a pain in the ass in that regard..
No it's not. What if that information was only given to certain people and Woody's first reaction to the question was to wonder which person gave that information to the press? "I don't know where that came from." Well, maybe he doesn't but it doesn't mean he didn't say it.
Exactly what I wrote you get value in picks and/or players plus space. They are all important. That's the real world of the NFL these days. We are going to be unloading players for space and hopefully we can trade some players for space and players. Revis we should be able to do both with.
Actually, this would be interesting -- rebuild the team & screw Pats in the process. How about you taking Sanchez & his contract off our hands on top?
How would this be screwing the Pats? The Pats are one of the youngest teams in the league. There's not much room for draft picks going forward. Then, Belichick signs Revis to a team-friendly contract as he sees the Patriot Way. It's a no-brainer.
Heard what here first? One of the dumbest things ever posted? Woody Johnson is more likely to sell the team to Eric Estrada for a dump truck full of bald tires than the Jets are of trading Revis to New England. Nice failed troll post.
Don't underestimate the powers of Woody Johnson. Maybe Estrada will be running for President in 2016 and that will buy Woody's support.
