The biggest question about benching Wilson was when it would have been most effective; many here believe it came at least half a game too late, I tend to agree, you're noncommittal about that. That's a decision Saleh is responsible for. Actually the first QB decision of the season (and maybe the biggest) was made before game one got underway; did Saleh start the right guy for the first three games? Was his motivation to win games or protect Wilson from internal competition? Only today did the Jets admit they started Wilson too soon a year ago.
If that's so, then my problem is that Saleh let him. And JD let Saleh. It's all of them. It's really beyond irrational, especially after initially hiring Knapp to mentor Zach. Then when he dies, they're like, "hey we've got Calabrese, cool."
His grade is getting lower and lower the more I think about it. Came out Mike White has 5 broken ribs. As bad as your other QB options are how do you play a guy with 5 broken ribs in a must win game? How do you not make the change during the game when you can clearly see that the dude wasn't up for it?
I can see starting him, but it was clear he couldn’t play. But I do agree his grade is getting lower by the minute. As much as I’m on record for not liking ZW as a QB, to come out and say he needs to go read a book on a beach is just inexplicable.
Worse was when they put him back in the game twice where he broke the ribs to keep getting hit. Saleh is a utter moron who lets the players do what they want and doesn't do whats best for the team. He also lets his groupie Mlf do whatever he wants and never holds him accountable. Mike White could of died in that game and that would have been on Saleh.
Jets should of hired Mike Mccarthy, atleast he was proven and has Dallas in the playoffs, instead Woody repeated the same mistake 7 times now.
gotta say i think it has been weak af that Strev has gotten NO play these past 2 weeks... first REAL issue i have w/ the HC
I know it’s on the O mostly but giving up 160 yards rushing when you have a qb who can’t throw is atrocious.
When all is said and done I'd much rather have Saleh than McDaniels. That said, if they can get someone with winning experience I'd be happy to replace Saleh & Co.
so you rather have a guy who’s 11-23 and lost 6 straight than a guy who got his team into the playoffs?
6-3 into the bye, 1-7 following. Last 3 games of the season: 0 TDs. Nuff Said. Every team has injuries. Not every team has an impotent scheme for the opponent.
