I think the main reason who wouldn't go to the Mets is that, if he's going to stay under such scrutiny, might as well be in the organization he knows. He would go to the NL, like he Cubs or something.
A Rod will reject the offer. Not many teams has that kind of money but if I were the Mets... Offer $35million per year for 5 years.
This is great. We're going to be paying a 40 year old player over 30 million dollars for a season down the line.
Have you ever seen a game in fenway? A Right handed hitter gains alot more HRs on high flys that are outs anywhere else than they lose on line drives off the wall, also a lot of lineouts become doubles. Add to that the Pesky pole in right which helps a Righty going the other way on outside pitches. He'd probably get an extra 7 to 10 HRs a year over yankee stadium. at least 10 over shea. Not many parks are better for a righty than fenway, maybe cinci or philly which are just launching pads in general, but that's about it.
You also failed to realize that Yankee Stadium has the deepest left center field in baseball. If a guy was really concerned about only hitting home runs as a right handed hitter, Yankee Stadium would probably be pretty low on the list of places to go.
