Send DeSalvo to the minors and don't call him up again...Let him have a shot at a reliever role in the Spring.

Just curious but I don't really give a rats ass about the Yankees but don't they have somebody in the minors that can play 1st better than Phelps? I mean you guys lost both of your options in a week and your stuck with this guy? Even though he isn't tearing it up in Triple A wouldn't it be wise to give the Florham Park native a shot?

They aren't going to win every game now, they got poor starting pitching and another Cano gem at 2B(he's going to get someone killed one of these days, he was he one responsible for Mientkiwicz' injury and he was responible fo getting Jeter dinged up last night b/c he always nonchalant's everything). Thy need to win 2 of the next 3 and at least split this series.

Andy Phillips is down in the minors, but there's no room on the roster. DeSalvo was sent back to the minors to clear the spot for Clemens.

Teixeira is who I want. 1) we have to trade something of value to get him, which means someone has to go, clearing a spot (If it involves trading significant minor league talent, forget it.) 2) At least we get a good ballplayer to play the position. Phelps is crap.

And junc is right. Just when I think Cano is trying, he goes and pulls his sleepwalking crap again. How many guys have to get hurt before he gets a seat? Play Cairo Joe. Sure, his bat is garbage, but at least he plays defense.

I remember reading a scouts report on the Yankees about two years. The name Cano came up. The scout says he has to play left field - hes too big, and bulky and not graceful enough to be a second baseman.

That's actually pretty interesting. I never thought of it from that angle, but it actually makes some sense. Unfortunately, our Japanese income is playing left field. I wonder if he could play right.

Hughes is the type of guy the Yankees would have to deal, unless Texas is really, really stupid.

The Yankees are the most successful sports franchise. I don't want to hear about your third world kickball teams or your guy in Dubai with his prized cockfighting rooster who has 28 ribbons.

This past offseason in ESPN Magazine...Their was a Cano article, and a few scouts believe he will be the replacement for ARod at 3rd, or eventually be the 3rd baseman...

    Just saying...

I don't think the Yankees get Teixeira for anything less than Hughes and another one of their top 10 prospects. For the Red Sox it would probably be something like Lester or Buchholz and another top prospect. Here's the quote from the Ranger's GM:

He's still under control for at least next year, and hasn't come out and said he won't sign long-term, so they don't NEED to do anything this year. It's going to take a lot to get him.

Then they won't come close to making the playoffs.

    Yeah, you make good points.

The only thing that hurts the Rangers is that it became public that Teixeira had a fight in the clubhouse (with the manager I believe.) That puts them at a disadvantage, since it's all but certain he won't be around after the contract expires.

Honestly, right now, I'd just love to have Dougie back in the lineup.

We are only 7 back of the WC and we are still a month away from the AS break.

Why? He is GREAT defensively, and his bat was coming to life.

Keep in mind, this is the same guy who competed for a batting title a few years ago. He can hit. (I don't recall whether he won or not.) That's exactly what we need at the bottom of our lineup.

    I don't think it's sad at all.

Not to mention, I like the way Mienky plays. He grinds it out, and we need guys like that to set the example for guys like Cano.
