Yankees seem to be suffering from the same problem the Mets had down the stretch last year: lefty starters.

Hey, Moises Alou is a free-agent after this season.

Those are the types of plays you see from teams that give a shit.

Well, I don't know about Delgado, admittedly, but yeah, Abreu has been absolutely DISMAL. I can understand he's been known for being lazy or whatever in the past, but he's not just lazy now. He's also totally confused even when he IS trying. It's disgusting.

Jeter is hitting the crap out of the ball, but of course Joe wants Damon and Abreu and Cano and Cabrera leading off. None of them make any sense right now.

Personally, I'd put Mienky at the top. Yes, I know his average is low, but it's deceptive. He's seeing the ball well, but sitting at the bottom of the lineup, with guys like Cabrera and Cano "protecting" him, he's not getting anything to hit. Give him a chance to have Jeter behind him, and then he starts getting balls over the plate.

Then again, it just doesn't matter. The lineup right now shakes out like this:

Damon (started off okay, has gone stone cold since getting hurt repeatedly.)
Jeter (having a great year at the plate.)
Abreu (disgusting both at the plate, and in right field, save for two really good throws.)
ARod (has gone a bit cold since having an amazing April, but I attribute it a lot more to less pitches coming his way. His swing is fine, but he gets nothing to hit.)
Giambi (he was good when he was hitting the ball the other way early on. He's just hurting Alex now.)
Matsui (a total disappointment so far.) (Though as I am typing this, Matsui just had a couple RBI.)
Posada (the second best hitter on the team is hitting in the bottom third. Sickening.)
Cano (having his sophomore jinx a year late. He looks terrible at the plate. He'll literally swing at anything. It doesn't even need to be close.)
Mienky (like I said, he's getting no protection.)

This team is overpaid, and they suck for it. They can't blame the pitching now.

Nah, I think we're only 3 years away, tops. We have the young talent, and as long as they push out these old men, they'll be a better team.

Damn, it figures. I'm still at work, and they are playing great, and I'm only catching 5 minutes here and there.

It's been a LOOOOOOONG damn day...

Today is very important. We haveplayed better the last couple of weks but this would be back to back series losses if we lose so it's very important that we win today and have a little momentm heading into the weekend.

Agreed, but I still fear the Mets right now. Honestly, I would be happy to get out of this weekend with one win. (Sorry to those who are partaking in the sig bet challenge, but I'd prepare myself for a new sig if you're a Yankees fan.)

Honestly, we are just not that good this year. We're still in it, but we're close to being out of it already.

2:05 start this afternoon. Go get 'em DeSalvo!

Boys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we eFing suck. No matter how anyone pitches, we can't put together hits and get in runs. And when the hitters finally "figure it out," the pitching collapses.

I'll be very surprised if we even come within 5 games of the Wild Card.
