I am really worried. Can't go down (0-2) and Burnett is a Wild Card. Could go 8 scoreless innings or get shelled and leave by the 3rd inning. Pedro is the same though really.
I am not panicking but I'm def. concerned. The Yankees absolutely need to win tonight and Burnett needs to come up huge. I hope he can avoid "that inning"
More important than Burnett is that this team needs to hit. Burnett, even on an off night (not counting as off as he was in Boston a few months ago) is enough to win games. Just like Sabathia, even off his game, was good enough last night to win. I believe we stand a better chance against Pedro than we did Lee, but still. The key to victory tonight is getting on the board early and often. I'm very happy to hear Swisher is sitting tonight. It's about time. I don't really like Hairston though. I'd have preferred Hinske, but I guess statistically, Hairston holds the edge. Honestly, I'd have been happy if Girardi benched both Swisher and Damon and went with Hairston and Hinske. They couldn't hit worse, and while I'd guess Swisher is the best fielder of the 4, I doubt we'd lose enough defense to matter.
I hope to hear some loud, crystal clear "Who's Your Daddy" chants tonight. No clue what to expect from Burnett as per usual, if he's on he'll be really on. I don't like what I've seen from the pen so far this postseason (outside of Mo) so a quality start is needed from AJ. Fuck, it's the World Series. He better have a quality start!
It is also important to score more runs than the other team. :smile: Hairston is something like 10 for 27 off of Pedro.
Hahaha, yup. If you score more than the other team your chances of winning increase exponentially! I saw Hairston has the numbers against Pedro. I'm just not a big Hairston fan. It's fine though. It's not Swisher. I just hope Nick breaks out of his ridiculous funk thanks to this.
