looks like the sox/yanks have another game that's a blight on sport of baseball going on. am i reading beckett's line correct? 9 walks and 7 hits in 5 2/3 IP?
Yeah, it's garbage. I am so disgusted with him right now. All the fucking talent int he world and he's trash.
I defend the decision to use Proctor last night after Farnsworth got injured. But now it looks like Torre plans to bring in Proctor to pitch the 8th inning in a 5 run game. Why? Why would he do this? Pitch Beam in the 8th and just let him go. If the tying run gets in scoring position, bring in Rivera. It's as simple as that.
Cano is just an unbelievable hitter. No other way to slice it--I'd argue he's the best second baseman in the game right now, and this is his second season in the big leagues. Hopefully 8 runs is a large enough cushion to protect Torre from himself and keep Proctor out of the game.
Utley is the only guy who I'd consider aside from Cano. And the gap is small enough that I'll rest on homerism and take Robby.
I wouldn't go that far. Utley is a more patient hitter and has a lot more power. EDIT: Oh, and Dan Uggla is a beast.
One more thing on Cano. His defense is pretty good. His range isn't that great, but it's fine, and he has a great arm at second base.
