good stuff by the yanks...Should have been a sweep but ill take 2 out of 3 in fenway...Especially when we make papelbum look paralyzed on the bench
Is that bad? Real glad to see Granderson get off to a hot start. We all know the longer you don't produce in pinstripes, the heavier the uniform becomes... I don't care if Chan Ho Park did good today, I have never been on his bandwagon since his days at Texas. He will have to just be completely lights out for a couple months for me to think otherwise. Edit: Also wanted to note that it's good to see Paplebon isn't a grossly overrated as he was for the past year or 2. He lets guys on every save opp.
I couldn't agree more with that statement. I am putting that in my sig. Hey Papelbon SHIP THIS UP TO BOSTON!
I think it's pretty wild that Granderson hit 30 HR last year at Comerica (a pitcher's park) despite sucking complete dagger vs. LHP. He'll put up huge numbers at Yankee Stadium with the short porch and this lineup.
I was offered a last minute ticket to tonight's game. It was fantastic. Beautiful night for a game. Beautiful results. And - I have to give credit where it's due - the women at Fenway were smokin' tonight. Like, jaw-droppingly gorgeous and so plentiful that it was flat out impossible not to notice. This is not usually the kind of thing you'll hear me say. It destroyed anything Yankee Stadium has ever had to offer in that department. I've never seen anything quite like it. I'm not that old, but I certainly don't remember ladies dressing like that when I was in college and single. I almost felt like a dirty old man. I can't tell if you're pulling my leg here. This is a far less advantageous situation than just batting Johnson second. You want to give up an out to put a slow runner in (hopefully) scoring position? Just let him hit in front of the big guys. Tex and A-Rod will start hitting soon enough, and having Nick on base half the time (regardless of how he got there) will generate 2.78 metric shittons of runs. Approximately, of course.
A lot of girls I'm friends with who go to UVM and Champlain went down to the game today, not to mention my masshole friends who went and many of them are pretty smoking in my book. Gotta love summer... I really don't get this beef around here with Nick Johnson walking or being slow. He's the number 2 hitting, and one of the most important thing is to get on base. It doesn't matter how, just get on and let the middle of the lineup do its thing. Are we going to miss Damon and not only in terms of speed? In some aspects yea we probably will, but I would not be surprised if Johnson scored more runs than Damon did last year (107). You can call it what you want, but I really believe it can happen pending trips to the DL and such... I plan on getting Fenway tickets for the October series within the next week or 2.
