Wow. Some Tampa Bay fan just threw back Johnny Damon's 200th homerun ball. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

    Ooooooooooops.

BTW the Yankees are playing great baseball right now.

I think the NYY asked for the ball back and tossed him a random ball in exchange.

The case can be made that Burnett is certainly the #1 on this staff at this time. I guess Girardi knew that when he let him start the first game after the break.

I just like Burnett's boomerang trajectory curve ball.

Burnett has been completely awesome since his debacle back in early June. CC has been very good as well, and even Pettitte has been very good. Joba has also improved every start, and is getting into a groove (just in time to be shut down...)

The rotation is good, and has been almost all year. This is why it's stupid to even consider trying to trade for pitching right now. Especially when we need another guy in the outfield right now.

Oh, and can they please stop calling up Albaladejo?

Washburn is the bridge to get them to next year. I hope they get him. He should cost no more than a mid level prospect and would fit in perfectly at #3 when Chamberlain has to be shut down. They keep saying Hughes will stay in the pen this year and every other legitimate starter out there would cost way too much. Next year they have CC, Burnette, Wang (hopefully), Chamberlain and Hughes. Pettitte too if they want him.

Supposedly the price on Washburn is Melky AND Gardner. To which I say no way.

I still think if we could somehow add bullpen depth instead of a starter, move Aceves into the rotation.

Wow..well he won't be coming here either. I heard today that Cleveland wanted both Chamberlain and Hughes as well as top prospects for Lee. These people aren't going anywhere. I have to laugh that they talk about Halladay going to Boston. That would cost them Pedroia, Ellsbury, Buchholz and prospects. I'm all for it if they want to do it.

Supposedly they offered Buchholz, Bowden, and Westmoreland. Not sure if it's enough to get it done (I'd guess it's not), but it's also a fair amount more than anyone else has offered so far.

Dude, they don't need Halladay. Their rotation is already the deepest in all of baseball. Halladay would be, like, their seventh starter or something.

IMO, Hughes and Chamberlain have a much better future in front of them then Lee, the one year wonder. Anyone that makes this trade shoudl be shot and fired on the spot.

Gammons says the Sox aren't going to trade Westmoreland. Praise be the word of Gammons!
