With Cleveland losing this would be a great day for another win. Of course it would be a great day for a win even if they won. Even with that disasterous 1-9 west coast roadtrip the Yankees are playing better then any team in baseball over the last 6 weeks. Of course you will never read that from any of the NY hating sportswriters.
Yeah, a win tonight would be HUGE. Santana is going for the Twins against Miller and the Tigers. Can't expect to gain a game there, but Miller has pitched relatively well as of late, so maybe we'll be surprised. Washburn is pitching for the Mariners against Cabrera and the Orioles. Probably won't gain any ground here tonight. Tavarez is pitching for the Sox against Perez and the Royals. I would say the Red Sox should win tonight, but then again, they lost with a much better pitcher in Wakefield starting last night. Right now: Boston - 7 in the loss (8 GB) Cleveland/Seattle - 5 in the loss (6.5 GB Cleveland/5 GB Seattle) Minnesota - Tied in the loss (1 GB)
Another big hit for A-Rod. Clemens pitched well, had to get out of alot of trouble, but only gave up 1 run.
We can not afford to lose A-Rod. George has to give him the blank check then close his eyes and put it in his pocket when Boras n A-Rod give it back to him
Foolips is now Phillips... Villone couldn't do his job, 1st and 2nd 1 out and Joe has to go to Mo for a 5-out save.
Phillips has made me rethink my desire to bring in Teixeira (for now at least.) He's a fantastic addition to the bottom of the lineup. 11 RBI on 19 hits in 68 at-bats. What more can you ask from him? Oh, his awesome glove. F Giambi, and sorry Dougie, your time was short, but done. ----------- Enter the Sandman for the 5 out save!
