4 straight bad starts by Burnett. It's ugly right now.

As for his #s w/w.o Posada, until last night, his best ERA had been with Posada as his catcher.

More alarming than just AJ though is the issue of Eiland's absense. Before he took his leave the entire team's ERA was 3.82. From June 6 until last night, it rose to 3.74. Last night brought it to 4.15. Eiland gets a lot of shit, including from me, but our alternatives don't seem able to get the job done.

Oh, and wtf with the hitting? ARod is 6 for his last 36 going into the game. Jeter is 7 for his last 40.

This team is getting old really quickly.

I heard that Arod was 5 of his last 40. Ooooooof. His hip is falling off I believe.

Alio, what do you tink of my boy Javy now after seeing this Burnett cunt?

AJ really need to get his head out of his ass in his next start.

lay off ARod, he hit the ball hard a few times last night, and when he starts driving the ball to right-center (like he did last night), it means he's getting his swing down. He's probably about to go on a tear

Well, that's what happens when HGH is no longer fueling your recovery.

As for Javy, in all seriousness, I was sure he would straighten out, but the question was when. As for my crazy rants, I'm sure we can all guess what those were about. I like Vagquez.

I think Burnett will be fine too. Again, it's a matter of when. Right now he's just awful though, and it's hard to stomach. But the entire pitching staff not named Andy, Phil, Javier or Mariano is shaky. CC looks like he's turning a corner, but he's been pretty bad for a month and half too. Chan Ho Suck needs to be DFA'd. Robertson has been better, but we have to hope he keeps it up because he may need to take Joba's job. Wouldn't it be nice to have Phil Coke?

    FTR:

    Austin Jackson: .308 .352 .412
    Curtis Granderson: .234 .315 .430

Phil Coke: 5-0, 3.10 ERA in 29 innings
Ian Kennedy: 3-5 3.60 ERA in 95 innings

I like Granderson, but this is one deal the Yankees didn't win.

It's not really piling on ARod, or Jeter, or Tex. The whole team has been slumping, and that puts a spotlight on the "stars" who are struggling. Honestly, should this lineup ever feel like it's out of a game down by 6 mid-way through? It did last night.

It will all turn around. Teixeira is starting to hit the ball better. Alex is going to start hitting better as soon as he can get himself back to full health (they were talking about how he's admitted he's scared of pain more than actually being in pain right now on the radio last night.) Jeter will be fine. The numbers will all play out in the end.

And for all the pitching problems and big time slumps, the Yankees are still in first place by a half game.

Wow, is no one staying up for the games?

Andy was great again last night. I can't see Joe not giving him the start in the All Star Game. He now has over 2500 innings as a Yankee. It's a shame he'll never be in the Hall. I wonder if he'll be honored in Monument Park? Probably not, but I'd personally love to see it.

Funny timing dwalsh. You mentioned Alex hitting to right-center yesterday, Sterling and Waldman talked about it, and ARod smashed one. Tex hit too. I wound up falling asleep before Joba came in, but I read that he looked good.

ARod actually said after the game that he's never considered himself a home run hitter. Hahaha, yeah, and I consider myself the rightful heir to the British throne.

Colin Curtis got his first MLB hit. Chad Moeller was DFA'd to make room for him. I almost feel bad for Moeller. The guy just bounces around and never has a real job. I guess part of it is that he and I were born on the same exact day. *shrug*

The best news is, both Boston and Tampa lost, pushing us up to a game-and-a-half lead. Yeah, it's still June, but I like to be in first regardless of the month.

absolutely inexcusable not to score with the bases loaded and only 1 out. And now they're losing, unbelievable. Yankees should be blowing them out instead they're down 2

I missed the whole game. Nice that we gained another game on both Tampa and Boston. On to LA!
