Picked up a game on Boston, Seattle and Minnesota. A couple more nights like that and we would start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. 12 more games against Toronto and it looks like they will all be hard though.

We nearly got one on Cleveland as well but unfortunately they came back.

Clemens and Wang. I like our chances of winning the series and then 10 games against TB, KC and Baltimore. We should make up some more ground by the end of the month. If we could only erase that debacle of a road trip we would be playing .846 ball for the past 6 weeks but even with it it's been .638.

Whatever junc. The only reason I walked away from the argument is because you infuriate me, and I don't have all day to sit and fight with you. Not because "my tail is between my legs."

As for your "misinterprted" comment, it was obvious you didn't read the entire post, OR that you simply ignored what the majority of it said. Again, whatever. I'm really growing tired of arguing with you. It's just not worth it.

The fact is, I despise Joe Torre, and ALWAYS have. Even when the team was winning. Does that cloud my opinion of every single action he takes? Probably. However, you do the same exact thing from the other direction. He can do no wrong in your eyes since he won some titles back last decade. We're both guilty of being overboard in our opinions. I can admit my own fault, can you?

As for Cashman, I've already explained that I'm only pissed off about recent events where he is concerned. His Pavano position coming into the season really soured me on him. Is it fair? Probably not. However, we had a great chance to unload that steaming shitpile, and he wanted to prove he didn't make a mistake.

Now how about we move on to the current series thread, and stop bumping a stale one?

quoting a typo, well I knew you didn't have an argument but that pretty much cements it. You don't mention Cashman anywhere in that post, you do whine about Torre- how could anyone not think you were talking about Torre?

read that quote again and tell me how anyone could get that you were talking about Cashman?

It's great you despise Torre and always will, I really hope you didn't watch during the Championship years b/c how could you have enjoyed them w/ such a horrible manager ruining everything. i really think we could have went undefeated in a few of those seasons if not for clueless Joe:lol: That damn guy only led us to 4 World Championships and 6 AL pennants, he should have been fired after not winning again in 1997.

I'll move on just don't keep attacking me. When you do I'll respond.

Okay junc, here is a snippit of what I wrote in that post:

Let me spell it out, so we can stop arguing about whether I made myself clear or not.

I gave Joe a reprieve as far as players taking a walk. The definition of reprieve:

In other words, I gave him some relief from the burden of blame for the situation with guys possibly leaving. When I mentioned that the stupid Yankees policy would be the key component to any of them walking, I figured it was obvious I was pointing out Cashman's preseason stance that he would not renegotiate with guys like Posada and Mo. Sorry if that came across unclear.

Anyway, I'm not attacking you. I simply respond when you obviously feel so compelled to respond to me all the time. I post and post and post. Every once in a while, you stumble across something I write, and decide you want to start another argument. Most of the time I go with the flow, since it's been fun at times to get into it with you, but lately, I just don't have the patience. I've had less time to be on lately with the baby and all, so I just don't feel like spending time arguing.

The fact is, we're on totally different sides of the fence with Torre. As for me not enjoying our titles because he was the manager, that's just silly. Was I supposed to not enjoy Yankees games when Buck Showalter or Lou Pinella were managing too? I despised both of them too. (Granted, we didn't win titles with either of them, but should I have hated the whole team for that?)

Hell, should I have hated the Yankees as a kid because I despised The Boss, which I did?

Should I have hated the Yankees for letting Mattingly retire to bring in Tino Martinez, and watch him and Wade Boggs win a title while Donnie Baseball sat at home?

That's silly junc. There's no reason why I have to like every single member of the organization. Personally, I loved Joe's entire staff during those title years. It was Joe I didn't like. I love Willie Randolph, and I can't for the life of me understand why Mets fans don't, but I also don't see the games, so I don't know if particular actions he takes warrant their feelings.

Your argument is flawed. I have every right to not like Torre, and I have more than enough reasons to justify my feelings. Same goes in the other direction for you.

You "give Joe a reprieve" 4 paragpraphs later and I'm not an idiot, I know what the word reprieve means you just just posted that stuff about the FAs in the middle of a Joe Torre rant so obviously it was easy to confuse what you were trying to say. Go back and read it over and you'll see.

No you don't have to like every membr of the organization but damn we won 4 titles! have a little appreciation, if you want i'm sure george could re-hire Stump Merrill or Bucky Dent- would that make you happier? and as muchn as I loved Mattingly he was at the end of the line and w/o him retiring I don't think we win in 1996. Not only was it a major upgrade at 1B as Tino was a much better player than Mattingly at that point but more importantly we got Jeff nelson in that deal. We could have won w/ Donie at 1B even if he wasn't as good as Tino but Nelson was huge out of the pen and we won in '96 b/c of the bullpen first.

My argument is not flawed, I like to win. It's all about winning, I appreciate what ARod is doing this year- he's been alot of fun to watch but w/ October validaytion it means nothing to me. Joe has guided us to 4 titles and 6 AL pennants, I never saw the Yanks the in the postseason growing up so I appreciate what Joe was able to do and don't think for a second it was all b/c of payroll and talent. The most talented teams don't always win(and we weren't the most talented team in 1996) and his leadership was a major reason we won 4 Championships and I appreciate that especially growng up w/ Yankee teams that never won.
