After reading through rajensen's post history I'm assuming he is a staunch Herm supporter? At least he predicted that we'd have a crappy a 2007 I guess this post is kind of spot on, lol... http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=445055#post445055
1. Jenkins a proven Defensive tackle and one time pro bowl player . His job is simple take on two blockers let the linebackers roam , something that robertson could not do. Major upgrade . 2.Alan Faneca one opf the best guards in the NFL period. His job hold the line and let mangold and D'bickashaw do there thing. Remeber the human turnstile Adrian Clarke ! Major upgrade ! 3.Calvin Pace - a 6-4 270 linebacker that gives us the size we need to dictate what the offense is gonna do not to mention he had 80 solo tackles last year 6.5 sacks seems to thrive in a 3-4 defense . Major upgrade! 4.Damian Woody - a veteren former Pro Bowl offensive lineman who seemed to find his groove at right tackle last year and can fill in a guard . Major upgrade! Lets not forget the nfl draft is coming up in april and we are in a position to take who we want not who we need .We are definately closer to the patriots and gonna be better than the bills or dolphins.
Who cares? Stop worrying about whether some media outlet has polished your balls shiny enough. Until we field a team next year there is no clear cut winners or losers. Just paper hype.
Jenkins played the last 2 seasons without missing a game. Pace is not just a sack artist - he is a very well rounded linebacker who is bigger than Adelius Thomas. 3 of the postions the Jets signed are 'low risk busts' - NT, Jenkins (big man, proven he is capable of the job), G - Faneca, guards can last a long time - the key here is the chemistry that will develop with this line which will be Faneca's main contribution, and RT - Woody is versatile and athletic OL. He was not a reject with the Lions. He was being worked back into the G position after a shoulder injury. Replaced RT because there was a bigger need there. No sacks in 5 games. He will be good. A proven run blocker with more than capable pass protection skills. Pace is a higher risk potential bust - the nature of the position.
Sure, it came off as sour grapes. I can give a damn about early "winners" and "losers" by SI, Yahoo, ESPN, but I thought the Jets deserved some mention for Jenkins and Faneca. In the end, it matters very little. Plus, it always makes for good thread discussions.
There you are!!!!! We've been looking for you for quite some time. I told you sucking Herms dink would make you retarded...
Ah the village idiot, otherwise known as rashonmyass088 is back! How ya doin buddy? See all the positive Jets press and just HAD to come back and say hi? Get a little trolling in before the draft starts?
I'm glad you came back around and posted. We needed to explore the retarded angle on our Free agency period. See you again next year.
I didn't know Jason Taylor posted on a Jets Message board.... good luck on Dancing With the Stars man.
I wouldn't label this draft deep at all. If anything it's basically a copy of last years draft all over again...
Actually, no. My bad. Thought it the post was from a Dolphins fan. But I'm glad we aquired the best lineman and paid his like one instead of going for special team standouts like Tangini's first two offseasons.
Herm Edwards goes 13 and 19 in two years after talking over a 10 and 6 team. Mangini goes 14 and 18 after taking over a 4 and 12 team. Mangini is still beter than Herm.
