Shipley is having another great year, around 400 yards in 4 games. Shipley has great hands and would be an excellent slot receiver in the NFL, he also returns punts. Doesn't have elite speed for separation the NFL loves, but is a great route runner that makes up for the lack of speed. I think Shipley could be a 3rd rd pick, but most likely a 4th rounder. I wouldn't draft someone thinking they could be the next Welker, there aren't many players that have Welker's talent. There have been many players like Shipley that were drafted, looked great in College, and not so special in the NFL. For every Chrebet/Welker type, there are dozens that didn't produce in the NFL. Back on Topic: The Jets are thin on mid-round picks, I'd rather they don't go WR, but you can't turn down a good WR if he falls. I try to never say never on a mid-to late draft picks when it comes to positions....a player may fall that is a terrific value. I'd prefer the Jets get a good #3 established WR in FA!!! With Cotchery 50/50 playing Monday, it's clear the Jets need another receiver. Free Agency period for 2010 late winter/spring looks good for WRs. Like I said earlier, post #1, Baltimore has a couple of URFA coming up.
What do you think of Greg Hardy? I've seen a few mocks where he goes to us in the mid-late 20's, but is he big enough to play 3-4 DE?
They sure do...that was October. Cody is going to be a good football player in the right system. If the Jets draft cody at #61 , I wouldn't be upset. Cody was rated a Mid Round 1 pick in October......conditioning issues(weight) ....are concerns.
