I could see some of the receivers dropping out of the first and a few more OT's sneaking in based of positonal value as much as overall talent. Mike Adams of Ohio and Nate Potter if he can tack 15 pounds on come to mind. If jsut can't see that many wideouts in the first despite the talent. GM's always seem to reach for OL talent early.
You have a valid point. Teams generally rate OTs higher in rd 1. IMO, this year will be an exception. Last year there were 8 O-Lineman drafted in rd 1, which filled quite a few needs. I have 4 in Round 1 this year. The WR position is very strong at the top with Jeffery & Blackmon. The second tier of WRs is a very good group all worthy of late rd 1 consideration, so as of right now I'm expecting a run of WR in late/mid to late Rd 1. It always seems that when a couiple of players of the same position are drafted close together, a run on that position can occur. The Texans went heavy on defense of late, so I added a playmaker opposite AJ. Pittsburgh's WR group could use another playmaker, plus it could be Hines Ward's last season. I like Broyles going to Indy, I think he's a good fit and a need. Michael Floyd to Green Bay makes some sense, they really could use another weapon with Jennings. Cobb was an interesting pick in rd 2, but may not be a solid #2, Driver is a fossil and Nelson is a #3. I know Green Bay tends to go defense/O-line n Rd 1, but this year could be an exception. Everyone has their opinion, I put a lot of time into this mock and tried to make the player fit based on need and not pass up a good value. Some players have fallen out of rd 1 and some were drafted a bit early. To be honest, it's very early and I could see up to 10 players on my list not making rd 1 come next April, things are very fluid.
Oh no doubt. I know you put a lot of work into these things and more than I would, thats why I gave more of a general observation. ... and yes, fluid is the right term. With a year of football and the madness of the combine to go anything could happen.
