Anybody miss Jeremy Kerley ? Btw, just read that Detroit traded him to SF. The future looks bright with this core of young WR's. The jury is out, but McCags looks to have hit a HR nabbing Peake so late in the draft and then Jalin and Robby as undrafted FA's. Awesome. I almost wish Robby didn't put up those stats this summer since I figured him for practice squad duty after we signed him. No chance of the Jets keeping him if they assigned him there? I mean, the rest of the league didn't draft him either.
No way Robby clears wavers. He leads the league in most receiving categories through the preseason. He gets nabbed the second we cut him. I want to say Marshall is the only one who has a chance at passing with all his drops, but then again he had an 80 yard return so someone would still go for him I think.
I don't think one return makes him a candidate to be picked up...he has issues holding onto the ball...and he was undrafted. I think the chances of him making and staying on the PS are pretty solid. But I do understand the reasoning for holding onto him just in case...
Really really LIKE this kid....Robbie Anderson!! Speed.... Speed KILLS!.....kid is Fast... Route running..gets OPen, catches the BALL!!! ONLY thing.....small frame.....hope he can protect himself. ( not being the best blocker > NOT a concern ) Feels good..... to expect a catch....rather than Hope for a catch.....being a JETS fan. Last WR i really wanted was 2014 draft....brandin cooks. ( looking back.....Happy having CalvinP. ) A WR that catches everything thrown to him >>> Give me some of THAT!!!!
This post gave me indigestion. I feel you, though. He needs to hit the gym, I could see him getting jammed at the line.
I've said it a couple times, but the wide receiver position was badly in need of a youth infusion and we seemed to have gotten it with these UDFA's and Peake. 32-33 can be the death years for a wide receiver and Brandon Marshall will be 33 in March and Decker will be 30 the same month as well. If we can come away this season confident as Peake/Anderson/Marshall as even a couple of solid 2's and a 3 then we can basically re-draft a whole new offensive line and maybe a corner somewhere in there. We're going to be in great shape for next offseason, as the future of the defense is pretty much set. All we need is either Petty or Hackenberg to turn into a quality NFL quarterback and the sky is the limit for this team. We could potentially have found a GM and head coach combination that can be here for the next decade. Stability within an organization is one of the biggest keys to a success.
As many of us predicted both Ross & Thompkins were released while the Jets go with the youth factor. Brandon Marshall. Eric Decker. Quincy Enunwa. Robby Anderson. Charone Peake. Jalin Marshall. This is the exact group of receivers that I've wanted the entire time.
Tough to tell, somebody has to go after week 1 when Richardson comes back and later when Smith and Giacomini come back. They don't count as roster spots now, do they?
Can't believe we have a top 5 WR, one of the best second options in football and three young, talented guys behind them. It's a new day yes it is!
No they don't. I'm gueesing Giacomini and Richardson won't impact the WRs when they return... however when Devin Smith will come back a discussion will be had on Anderson and Peake and how they have progressed.
I'm guessing ross is back after week 1 and they send peake to the p.s. Too much inexperience there. Mac just didn't want to guarantee ross' whole contract
