Did u watch that entire vid? U do know Benjamin had over 200 yards and 3 tds in that game where he looks like "dog shit" lol The 4:12 and on mark is why i LOVE this kid
Of course I watched the whole thing. I watched Purifoy raping that tall kid. Benjamin got away with horrible offensive PI on one of the TD passes. He just couldn't get open till a fucking reserve started covering him. [That's the 4:12 clip. He got that once a backup was covering him. Not when Purifoy was covering him.] And what's with the drops? The passes were all on his hands. He dropped like 3? That's a big no-no in WCO. He racked up that 9 catches only after the game broke open. When it was tight, he was worth less than dog shit. Watch the clip again yourself. P.S. 9 catches and 200+ yards and 3 TD line sounds a lot like Matt Schaub is a fantastic QB because he pads his stats well during a garbage time in a lost game. [which he does exceptionally well.]
I would say there is no shot of Benjamin to the Jets at 18, that would certainly lose the confidence in Idzik that has been building this offseason for me. Of course Jets will do there due diligence with the kid and very well may be interested in him with a 2nd or 3rd rd pick.
I don't know about Benjamin. He seems like the epitome of a "boom or bust" guy. I don't see him lasting to our pick in round 2 (#49 overall). Realistically, I see zero chance of us getting Mike Evans @18. He won't get past Pittsburgh @15. If he somehow does, I can't see Jerry Jones passing on him @16, no matter how badly his team needs defensive talent. The Lions should take Evans @10. Imagine Calvin Johnson on one side with Mike Evans on the other. Their offense would be unstoppable. (It would be like Marshall and Jeffery in Chicago.) Not to mention Matt Stafford @QB with Golden Tate in the slot and Reggie Bush / Joique Bell in the backfield.
What in the world does Matt Schuab and padding stats in a loss have to do with this? FSU won that game? Kelvin had 3 bad drops and could of added another 100 yards had he held on.. I have said if before he needs to work on his concentration it's his only weakness! I have said it on here I believe he is a boom or bust pick! I understand! I feel the boom is astronomical and that outweighs the bust. We could use a miss match option for Geno on 3rd down and in the redzone!! His wing span and freaky size is perfect for the back shoulder play when you need it too! If we pass on him I would be sadly disappointed
According to WalterFootball, gang green is "Very Interested" in Martavis Bryant, which is scary. Add this comparison, and it's enough to make you want to vomit. (Maybe Bradway can convince Idzik to work another trade-up scenario.) http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1737158/martavis-bryant COMPARES TO: Stephen Hill, New York Jets - Similar to Hill when he entered the NFL, Bryant is a tall, legit vertical threat with potential to be drafted higher than expected, but needs to become more well-rounded as a pass-catcher and become more consistent at the catch point to reach his full potential.
I understand the hesitation with that kind of rhetoric around him, but I think it's nonsense. Hill ran basically a gimmick role at GT, mostly as a decoy. Bryant is tall and fast like Hill, but the man can track the ball and actually has pretty darned good hands. He also has proven to be deadly on the fade. Both Watkins and Bryant basically ran three routes at Clemson: screen, slant, and go. Bryant ran fewer screens than Watkins, but he can catch-and-run with the slants. IMO he's an above-average NFL-prospect receiver who also possesses an elite size/speed combination.
Brandin Cooks was on the NFLN (Path to draft ) tonight. Very confident player that is well spoken, likable Guy. The NFLN Guys gushed over Cooks. They spoke about Marty M. working him out on Oregon State's pro day and Cooks has an upcoming visit with the Jets. If you missed the segment, it will be on again around 12:30 a.m.
I saw some of it, he definitely doesn't lack confidence, did you catch the Watkins interview? He is a very humble guy, if we traded up to get him I'd be very happy lol. Only if he was still around at the fifth or so pick though which I doubt.
I know but one can dream, if he was 2-3 inches taller he'd probably go number 1 overall, phenomenal football player.
Good to hear. A confident, affable kid like Cooks will do great in NY on and off the field. I've been pushing for him at 18 for months now.
Really nice Guy, you can't not dislike the Kid. He's not cocky, just confident. Seems like an intelligent person, well spoken.
That's good to hear...just have to wonder if he'll get frustrated if he isn't getting enough throws going to him or not. That's a growing epidemic with NFL WR's these days.
FWIW, OBJ interviews very well too. Very intelligent, smart and very humble player. Cooks & Beckham are great Kids, on and off the field. Our new special teams coordinator will campaigning for Beckham.
He looks like a good guy and he'd be fine as a Jet. I'm worried about his size but with the right attitude that just doesn't matter at times. He's got to be able to play outside for him to be a quality pick on the 18. If he's a great slot receiver but he can't play outside we will regret the pick in the end because we already have a pretty good slot receiver and the position we need is outside on the other side of the field. I'm assuming in all this that Decker is going to play flanker for the Jets. If that's the plan then the Jets already have 3 WR's in Decker, Kerley and Nelson who more fit the strong side. They really need a split end with some speed.
