I still don't know all the details about the soccer Championships(and I, like most Americans, do not care) but I know there's not an American team close to the greatness of the Yankees whch is why so many people take glee when the Yanks struggle. If the Yankees weren't so sucessful no one would care- much like when the mets were awful pre-06 and the Sox pre-'03.
Kurt, Kurt, Kurt...When I was a kid I used to go to Yankee Stadium a ton (I've been there a lot more than I've been to FENWAY hmy: ) I saw a fair share of "Red Sox Suck", or "Boston Sucks" T-Shirts, hats and bumper stickers!!! This isn't a one way thing that's going on. On top of that the "1918" chants would be considered immature, foolish and obnoxious. But it IS part of the rivalry and hardly that big of a deal. This has gone on for years, and will probably continue to do so forever. Now if you want to talk about the Yankees sucks chants during the pats championship parade...welll that's a different story.
Give it a rest Junc. Rich M. has spelled this out to you over and over again... if you don't "know all the details" by now it's your fault. The fact is you don't care, which is fair, but it hardly makes Michael Kay's ridiculous statements any more accurate.
those soccer teams count div titles as Championships, i guess what the Yanks are saying is w/ the AL East titles, AL pennants and WS titles is they have the most which I think is true. Either way no one cares about soccer in this Country(as a whole, I know they have some fans like you but overall no one cares) and all anyone knows is the Yanks are the premiere franchise in sports and people hate the anks b/c they win not for any other reason. No one cared about us in the late 80s-early 90s.
