To recap yesterdays game, it was a team effort from beginning to end, with mostly good and exiting football, some bad and a couple of ugly. We made mistakes that would have derailed us into a downward spiral in the past, but this time we prevailed. We played a very good team so no excuses necessary. Kudos to White, he made the most of it, the stage was not too big for him and displayed grit and poise. Kudos to the much maligned OC, he called a hell of a gutsy game. Best of all, I still have a visual of Florio and Chris Simms, smugly stroking themselves with self perceived superior knowledge proclaiming on their podcast that Cincinnati was going to completely obliterate the Jets with White at the helm by better than 20 points. No contest. It will be a complete slaughter. Their credibility is deeper in the toilet than ever before..
White made the offense clearly click. How the Jets can beat both the Titans and the Bengals, but get creamed by my Patriots makes no sense. I am so happy for you Jets fans, there is actually hope. I say stick with White because the team is better with him than Wilson at this time.
You could but it wouldn't be a very good take. The first int was thrown way to hard and the second was thrown too hard and in the wrong spot. White played very well but those INT's were on him.
No one on the world thought Tom Brady was a better QB than #1 overall pick Drew Bledsoe when he went down and Brady took over. Brady was meh in college at Michigan. Mike White threw over 4000 yards in 2 different seasons, his highest season total is almost as much as Brady hos whole NCAA career. I will go out on a limb and say Mike White is not going to be the GOAT. Can he be better NFL qb than Zach Wilson quite possibly. Zach should have to earn his starting position back, if White continues to play well. The offense last week looked better with him than Zach also.
Well, I moved out of NYC and don't get the games down here in Ft. Lauderdale. I was watching the score on the screen and saw they were down 11 in the fourth and just said to my wife that the jets are my penance. However when I saw the final score I was like holy shit! Anyway, my feeling is that White is not the long term solution and the bengals had only 4% pressure on him. I'm hoping he can repeat on Thursday but as a long time jet fan I have my doubts.
I thought the O was more fluid with White then with Wilson. Now having said that, lets see if MW is the real deal or just one of those JET QBs who pulls off a stunner once and awhile. he played great and the team finally looked prepared so kudos to the CS...
Am I one of the only one here who saw a different offensive game plan Sunday? Not only were the plays called from the booth for the first time all year, it looked like I was watching the Patriots offense that destroyed us the week before. Our RB's were used in a different way. Even down to the gadget plays. Let's give credit the right person here: Josh McDaniels.
I think it was more of hitting the open short passes consistently. Look at how high his completion percentage was. Wilson has been missing a shitload of those short open plays that move the chains. Also, he had time to throw - that can't be overlooked.
Right now I just don't know TBH...White provided an exciting win! Douglas MUST resign as Insurance IF Zach busts out (doubtful,I hope) I think posters here have a point that a job is a job and one of our QBs Zach or White has to earn it OTOH NC is correct in saying that the # 2 pick is a big investment for the Franchise and you don't hang the the kid out to dry or let him warm the bench With LaFleur's better play calls theoretically you must play Wilson to see what you have at least 2 more games The Season is an experiment...I thought we would not win crap! Now..what a surprise
He HAD time to throw, or was it that he TOOK less time to throw? I say the latter - by design. Swing passes galore. That's how NE crushed us.
The Bengals already proved Mike White can throw underneath all day long. Now you know the Colts are NOT going to allow those underneath passes unless they are behind the LOS. Mike White is going to need to be able to throw 20 to 30 yard outs in the Colts game. If he can do that then the Jets have a shot. If he can't we're ruined. But my point is the underneath pass is not going to be open tonight.....
