Jets fan are so fickle. You keep Fitz until you get somebody better that is the way it should be at all positions. Most likely we cut Fitz bring in another JAG with the same results and threads start all over with a different name.

    We are not getting Romo

Fickle???? We are talking about a QB who has screwed up every starting opportunity he's gotten, been on 6 (soon to be 7 teams) had a 7 month contract standoff with the Jets, played like dog shit after getting 12 million guaranteed. Also, replacing Fitz will be easy. He's not a good QB, and he knows he won't be back and rightfully so. Like I said before, he stands for 90% of what went wrong this season and you cannot bring back someone like that. You cut them, and you cut the baggage they left behind.

Fitz singlehandedly pissed away the season. It is not fickle for fans to not want to bring him back.

It doesnt matter anyway because theres not a chance they do bring him back - does that make the staff "fickle"?

But, but, but....he played well in week 17!

Stupid fans fall for this seemingly every year (see Smith, Geno)

    singlehandedly pissed away the season?
they sucked just as bad, if not worse, without him playing. this team and coaching were terrible at pretty much every aspect of football this season.

It makes the change irrelevant. Bring Fitz back, Hoyer, Glennon, Geno the results will be similar. Makes sense to me to bring Fitz back if Gailey stays. If the young guys cannot play I feel much better with Fitz than any other JAG.

Did you not watch our defense this year if you think Fitz single single handedly ruined this season.

everyone was bad but Fitz was giving out interceptions left and right. He destroyed the season upon which they switched to preseason evaluation mode. Fitz is junk. fuck that guy, I don't want him back if he played for free

Bowles couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag, Rodgers is not qualified, Revis couldn't cover anyone, we had no CB2, Pryor is junk, Richardson and Wilk checked out, the Oline was getting QB's killed, Petty and Hack were sadly not viable alternatives, and Brandon returned to locker room cancer mode..
but yeah, the season is on one guy

and sadly, Bowles never actually switched to preseason evaluation mode. he was trying his best to win games, the team was just that bad.

all that said, they need a better QB alternative than Fitz, someone who could push for the starting spot.
I hope Petty or Hack can run with the job, but we can't rely on that happening..

if it came down to Fitz, Hoyer or Geno for the vet min (god help us), I'd def go Fitz.

But we have to do better than that, as we've seen that won't work. maybe Glennon, maybe a 1st round pick, or maybe even a trade.

the messed up thing is that I agree with most of your ranting first paragraph and yet if Fitzpatrick wasn't the worst QB in the league by a wide margin giving away interception after interception the first half of the season, these Jets would've still been contending/respectable down the stretch. As such, that asshole that held out offseason burned the damn thing to the ground - fuck him and the backup.crappy horse he rode in on

how can you agree with my ranting, yet think the Jets would still somehow be contending/respectable?
makes no sense. there were way too many problems, way too much disharmony for any subpar QB to mask.
please refer back to the ranting :D..

dude they were 5-11, Buffalo finished 7-9 and was in the hunt until their week 16 overtime loss. Perhaps if Fitzpatrick didn't put up more interceptions than points scored in the second halves of games throughout the 1st half the season we could've won an extra game or 2 and been in that spot, at the very least. That's not unreasonable. From late september until late october Fitzpatrick did absolutely nothing but blow football games

I could go with a tie I guess. Different strengths and weaknesses. Leadership is important at the QB position as is a strong arm.

I would do what John Elway did in Denver, go into the season with 2 young QBs and not WASTE money on a scrub.

I for one am not, I hated the signing of Fitz, I don't ever want to see him on the field as a Jet, if he came as a fan to watch a game I would hope they have security confiscate his tickets and escort him out of the building.

Never want to see him again in the stadium.

This guy had one good season out of his whole career and decides to hold out, then comes back and proceeds to become the worst quarterback I have ever seen in a JETS uniform, including Geno Smith with a fucked up attitude as well. He showed me his true colors. Bye-bye!

Our fans just dont seem to get it, Fitz had 1 solid year out of his 12 years in the NFL, he is near or at the bottom of every statistical category that exist for QBs.

    Move on already!
