lol at the thought of trading Sanchez and a first rounder for RG3 lmao lol ahahaha what a stupid idea. Yea thats exactly what we need another rookie at QB at this point. Its either Sanchez or Manning theres no inbetween
Just catching up with a few threads on here, posts like this and the one from Cakes are a little disappointing. Posting unpleasantries about people who have no right of reply is a pretty cowardly and childish thing to do, I think - if you have something to say to MBGreen then I'm sure it won't be difficult to find a way to do it to him personally rather than hiding behind the fact that he can't respond to you. One of the reasons stated for the bloodletting was because there was a feeling that too many people were throwing their weight around. It rather looks like that hasn't been entirely stemmed yet.
Of course not. It's an endless cycle, if you're cool with certain people on herethe slack on the leash goes a lot farther. I got banned for a week for what was called a personal attack on an obvious joke and was stated as one in my post. Plenty of shit has been posted on this board by people which could be a banable offense. But it gets over looked because there is a double standard. Always has been like that and sadly it probably won't change.
I'm not talking about moderating decisions, I know nothing about your banning. I'm talking about the personal ethics of posters being unpleasant about someone who has had their right of reply taken away. It's the internet equivalent of the kid who waits until the bus is pulling away before he gives the other guy the finger.
I was just using mine as an example. What i did was in bad taste, I don't care it's over and done with.im simply saying that if bans were passed out more consistently it would make people think twice about attacking other posters whether they're on the board to defend themselves or not. Shouldn't really matter should it?
Yeah, but top picks aren't handcuffed by rookie salaries anymore. You can have a rookie sit behind someone.
So the question is this: Would you trade: 1. A guy who has proven that he is not as good as where he was drafted, and a guy who probably cant beat out 27 other NFL starters. 2. A middle of the order pick For 1. A potential franchise qb who might be better than Cam Newton, who was pretty damn spectacular last year. No, you are right, I would not do this. QB is not that important a position. No harm in going into another NFL season with one of the worst starters in the NFL as your qb.
Tough shit. I wipe my ass with your idea of personal ethics. Especially considering certain individuals whose past moderating decisions would be so far down the ladder of your high-fallutin' personal ethics that you'd be crushing them for it if you weren't currently affiliated with them.
The question should be who would for Sanchez and a first round pick? Probably only the Redskins if another QB desperate team were to trade into the 2 spot held by the Rams.
================================================ FYI - This discussion stops here. Big red lines, and all. So perhaps we won't get anyone chiming in two hours from now and saying that they didn't see the warning. Move along.
So basically your magic 8 ball tells you he will be a much better nfl QB than Sanchez. Make sure you send one to tanny so he can hit on every draft pick. Then we don't have to worry about filling any holes.
You paint such an accurate picture of the Jets' QB. Worst QB in the NFL. Just a quick question, though. How close is he to being the 2nd worst QB in the NFL? If he made strides towards improvement he might be able to jump up the ladder a bit and increase his market value from a ball of used tape to a pair of socks or even a dry-erase pen. That's when you strike and make your move. When you juice every bit of value out of a player and can get something of value in return.
why do people think all successful college qbs will be successful at the nfl level? look at tebow, alex smith, tim couch, russell, leaf, etc... i'll stick with sanchez with his comebacks, wins, and stupid decisions
Chances are he be worst. Sanchez is a fringe NFL starter. Unless RG3 simply cant play qb in the NFL, he will not be worse than Mark Sanchez. And, I dont know about whether I can be as good an accountant as Tanny since that is not my speciality, but I dont know that I could not be just as good of a gm as him (the bar is not very high after all)...
I never said worst qb in the NFL. He is one of the 5/6 worst starters in the NFL going into next year. He is an NFL qb, just nowhere near as good as someone you would expect to have considering his pedigree and where he was drafted. The guy is a fringe NFL starter to a quality back-up. He is just not a guy who is a franchise qb, and not a guy you should be building a team around.
Since you replyed to me, I am assuming you think that I believe that all successful qbs will be successful at the NFL level. I can assure you that you are 100% wrong in thinking that. I would not have taken 4 of those 5 guys you mentioned because I did not think they were going to be good pros if I was an NFL gm. Hell, if I was an NFL gm, I would have never taken Newton last year. He had bust written all over him, but he has pleasntly surprised. And for that matter, I want to get rid of Sanchez this year because I dont love Matt Barkley or Landy Jones as NFL prospects. And I am not sure the kid from Tenn is coming out next year. So, that class is a lot weaker than this years class imo.
It's way to early to judge the 2011 QB crop. Newton and Dalton look like keepers, and for a while Ponder looked as good, but then tailed off. Gabbert has looked awful. Locker had a few games where he did pretty well filling in for injured Matt Hasselbeck. AJ Yates was the hero of the Texans' playoff run. Nobody knows if any of these guys will actually improve on their rookie performances. I suspect that most of them will reach some plateau well below "franchise QB" status. Think Vince Young. Sanchez looked good as a rookie. So did Roethlisberger. Sanchez has failed to develop much beyond his rookie year while Roethlisberger has gone on to become a perennial probowler.
