Would you Trade Pick #23, a 3rd round pick and Sam for the #9 Pick?

?

If we tradeup with Denver to #9, who would you take other than a QB?

While I would do this trade in a second, if the Jets got the #9 pick I'd then trade back down to gather more picks in the 2nd or 3rd round if they could pull it off...This year is a "reloading" year to me. While Pitts would be great, I think what the jets need now is talent in total...if they could turn a 3rd/Sam + 23 into #9, they could then trade back down to better increase the value they got for Sam+23 into a 2nd + 3rd and get two more starters for 2021.

I disagree. The team needs elite talent as much as they need a plethora of good players, and at 9 you take your chance with getting that elite player than trading down hoping you hit that diamond in the rough across multiple picks.

If it's picks 23 and 66, Darnold's "value" is 330 points on the draft charts which would equate to pick #57. If you can get the equivalent of a late 2 for Darnold, you take it run before the other team changes its mine. I can't see Denver (or any team for that matter) wanting to give up a premium pick like No. 9 in a deal for Darnold.

However, for what it's worth, the difference in cost between Denver's 2nd rounder (pick 40) and the Seattle 3rd rounder (pick 86) is, you guessed it, 330 points. Darnold + 86 for 40 seems far more realistic to me than anything involving pick #9.

I would do that deal with Darnold + 86 for #40. We need more top 40 picks. Then I would package more picks for another top 40.

Somewhat off topic but didn't he get hurt here last season and blame the turf at Metlife? Anyone ever ask Saleh about that? 49ers made a bunch of noise about it. Wonder if there's any link to all the 49er guys not coming here

I would lean towards "no" b/c the Jets need a lot of new players.

Only a difference of one player tho (assuming they go QB at #2). I'd do this trade in a heartbeat and make it an offensive player

I would also probably do this if Slater is there. I've never seen him play but all the kids say he's one of the next great offensive lineman even if it's at guard.

I imagine it would be hard for Chris Simms to express anymore expert opinions from the grave.

Well, they don't have a lot of draft cap left so what would you propose they give us to swap picks? Maybe we could hire a new landscaper to keep the grass pristine!
