The media circus in NY is way different than in St. Louis or Dallas. That's a concern right there for a potential NY suitor.

OK but that isn't what your argument was. Your argument was that you thought the media circus in St. Louis and Dallas was more trouble than the player was worth. Then you said there wasn't a media circus.

I still believe there was a little bit of a media circus atmosphere surrounding Sam in both markets and moreso on a national level. Yet if he came to NY, the circus would be heightened tenfold is my argument both locally and by extension, nationally.

It sounds to me like you reached a conclusion and then filled in the details to justify it regardless of whether or not those details were true.

    Just my opinion.

I never said that the details about the media circus in any place were absolutely true. That's the beauty of conjecture. Yet they are still my opinions and I'm sticking to them.

I think there's merit to the idea that the trouble outweighs the gain but I never noticed the trouble part, we only hear speculation of it. I think there's also merit to the idea that he's just not good enough. GM's and coaches get paid to win so I think if Sams was good enough to help them win he'd be on the roster still.

You are making ridiculous assumptions. Lavalais was the DPOY, just like Sam, so to say he wasn't as productive as if there was a huge difference between the two is wrong and of course he wasn't as well-known, he didn't come out as gay before the draft and due to advanced technology media coverage has made even the smallest story a big story.
If 2 out of the last 10 DPOY were late round picks it shows that it is not terribly unusual, if I had to go back 50 years to find one not picked in the 1st or 2nd then you might have a point.
Sam dropped in the draft and was cut from 2 practice squads because he is not NFL caliber.

No. He's worse than every LB on the roster currently.

He'd be good for our image as he'd be the best dressed guy on the team. Rex could have him get off the bus or plane first when cameras are rolling. Sounds good to me!

Richardson needs to shut his big ass mouth and worry about the field, not the front office. (Still pissed at him about the timeout at GB).

Because he is openly gay? Pass.

In all fairness to Sam, I'm sure he is just not good enough to play.

However I feel that there are other homosexual players in the NFL that are not going to come out of the closet, they will just play, be productive, make a living and keep their personal life private.

And no I don't think the jets should pick him up.

Difference is the others in the closet are good enough for the NFL. While it was great that Sam came out since this will encourage other younger players to be open about their sexuality it ultimately comes down to being good enough and as you said he is just not good enough to play.

    No Way!

Why would we sign him? If he's been cut from 2 teams practise squads already what would he do for us? Nothing except provide a media distraction.

I see where you're going with this. Weaken the team's biggest strength so that the other units don't feel humiliated about by inadequate performances...interesting!

Wow you've identified John Idzik's philosophy as General Manager very succinctly! Good job

No way you're unbiased--throwing out Wake as one example is BS-firstly, what PS squad was he cut from? Answer--none (I had to look that up).

No-one can prove Sam won't make it into the NFL--Can you prove my grandmother won't make it? You put up an illegitimate argument and then ask others to disprove it.

There is no evidence to fall on the "he can make it side" any more than any other 7th rounder who gets released by 2 teams.

Where is your "support" for all the other guys who were 7th rounders and got cut? It seems like the basis of your belief in Sam is merely based upon his lifestyle choice. I call BS.
