Would you sacrifice Rex for proven offensive mind?

That sounds awesome! I say we fire Rex, and just go to the 'head coach that is an expert on either side of the ball that will use his expertise to get more out of less' tree and pick anothor one!

I don't think Rex has an offensive philosophy, it's just straight defense as far as he's concerned, which is precisely why I hated him when he didn't have a competent offensive mind on staff.
My distaste for Rex has been well documented but I feel like if we put the effort this offseason into rebuilding the offensive side of the ball, like we've done the the past few on defense, we can get this ship righted.

Now Rex isn't a very good HC in my opinion but what I do like about him is he's let go of the offense and turned the reigns over to a competent OC FINALLY.

My thinking is if the new GM can draft well and add a few key FA signings we can go from the bottom to the top real quick.

The secondary needs to be seriously upgraded so i'm thinking a top CB should be on the FA shopping list.
We need to draft some serious O- lineman this season, I don't care what anyone thinks, the O -line has been horrible.
We need to draft like we drafted for the defensive line and make it as big of a priority.

I think we're set at RB. Getting Goodson back should really sure things up.

TE is a big need going into the draft.

We've got some good $ this year coming to sign some decent talent, i'd say give Rex a 2 year extension and see where we go from here.

Exactly what I was going to post. I really like both Rex and Marty. We just need better weapons on offense.

I think we've seen the last of Goodson. The only way he's playing football next year is with the Mean Machine.

    Ding... Ding!!

I truly hope that this coaching staff makes this season exciting heading down the stretch here. I still think that Rex and Co. Are a strength for this team, not a weakness.

    We shall see.

I'm in the camp of keeping Rex wouldn't be a bad thing and Marty could be better calling games with better weapons.

Boy, are we lucky to have YOU to set the record straight. Since you claim that I "know nothing about football", we are so lucky to have an expert like you that has all the answers. Do you give out autographs?

"Rex isn't the Gm" and "that pisses you off to no end." So Rex had NO say in the fact that our last FOUR number one picks were all on defense? You're right, that is just a TOTAL coincidence--I willing to bet that Rex wanted four OFFENSIVE players. Good thing we have you and that you have figured this out already. I forgot that Rex's specialty is offense.

"Coples is solid and is the answer" at rush LB? Other than 1 play against New Orleans, what has he done? He looks lost at OLB. And of course, as you have figured out, the jets defense this year is great--49 allowed against Cincy, (Marvin Jones is the star) and 37 allowed against Buffalo WITHOUT their 2 starting WRs. The jets only have the worst point differential in the NFL--but we have Super Rex.

And then as you claim I'm wrong on "Simms stuff." Go back and reread my post--I didn't even mention Simms or Geno Smith in my post--You probably were referring to someone else's post, but since you claim I know nothing about football I probably have that wrong too. 8-8 in 2011, 6-10 last year, and likely 6-10 this year the way we're going. You're right--Rex IS doing a great job--Glad we have a person like you that knows EVERYTHING about football.

Nope. Even though Rex is pretty much a glorified defensive coordinator he is needed on this team. Be patient guys, we have a lot of money coming off the books after this season and a good amount of draft picks as well. This team is a stud WR and a stud OLB away from being a very good team. Besides that, we need talented OL depth, a blocking TE, and CB depth.

We have a good thing going with MM and Rex. The defense is set for years to come, and will remain consistently good, the offense WILL get better, because quite frankly, it's hard to be much worse than what they are now. Have faith and be patient. We are headed in the right direction, along with the Mets, yes the Mets. 2014 will show slight improvement, but I'm expecting big things in 2015 for both the Jets and the Mets.

I would take Jay Gruden in a sec, but would he want to work for the shitty GM and Owner we have?

Our GM is not shitty, only our owner is.
