If Mangini's bullsh*t prevents us from re-signing some of our young studs like Rhodes, I swear to God, I'll flip.... Anyone else miss Herm? It's a sad day when I can say we were honestly better off with Herm, Hackett and Cotrell
It's not the OL FAULT AND NEVER HAS BEEN. Look at Jones today, amazing in a losing effort. It's CHAD CHAD CHAD and this fuckin asshole won't take him out. Should of takin him out 4 games ago. What a waste of a year.
Sometimes a QB change can spark a slumping team... Young for Collins last year, Cutler for Plummer, Roethlisberger for Maddox before that, Brady for Bledsoe...who knows, Clemens could turn this team around. Chad obviously can't.
for the first time in a long time, I thought losing season as well before the season started. but it is the way they are losing, not just the losses. granted, I don't know what it takes to get a QB ready to play in he NFL, but I have a hard time believing it is done by extended stays on the bench, and that just seems like a rationalization for Mangini sticking with Chad as opposed to a direct reflection of Mangini's ability.
Winston, I like your post a lot................ do you think there is a chance Eric is purposely creating a situation the is very receptive for Kellen by running chad out there until everybody wants him gone???? Chad's poor play at this point is covering up a lot of so-so areas on this team as the lead story. Hell, nobody doesn't even notice that the difference in todays game was Eric Smiths missed tackle that lead to a 70 yard touchdown.
My rationalization for sticking with Mangini is largely based on the job he did in two off season two training camps and last season. I have seen one crappy coach after another come through the door in Hempstead. Other than Weeb, Michaels and Parcell's, Mangini is the first young coach who looks like a keeper. That's my rationalization, the guy came in with a good plan he brought a descipline to the team from top to bottom and he has to adjust, improve and get better and I think he has that ability.
I just think EM is a one trick pony , he seems inable to shake the players out of this slump , his soundbites sound ridiculous and he may be in his last season if they go 1-15 .
Chad's Presser: 'Right now I'm just numb, not a lot of answers' 'I had a chance to tie it up at the end, and didn't get it done, it's frustrating' 'To be honest with you, I don't know how I feel' 'This time last year we were 3-3, this year we're 1-5, only difference really is, a handful of plays' 'I felt like I could give Laveranues a play, Sheldon Brown made a good play' 'That's the way the season's going... 6 inches' Happy about the ball placement on the 4th down pass: 'Felt pretty good..... That's part of football' On the INT: 'I felt like I could put that ball up and let him jump up and make a play, and Sheldon Brown really got up in the air and made a play' 'Let the game come to us, not try to force anything' 'It was a weird game... Couldn't quite get things going' About Playing Next Week: 'I'm not concerned... Whatever happens happens, that's why Coach Mangini is the head coach' Oh, and Jetzz, I hope you're watching, he pays attention to the criticism: 'After the Buffalo game, it was all about how we checked it down, now it's all about how we throw jump balls' On 4th Down, sarcastically: 'Oh yeah, it's always up to me, always up to the QB on where the ball goes.... Normally LC and I, we connect on those things' 'As a QB, you understand that when you lose, whether it's your fault or not, it's on your shoulders, and I can handle that.... It hurts because we're losing'
It's not a slump that his QB has no arm after two surgeries and he doesn't feel Clemens is ready yet. The rest of the team played very well today.
This season it's been Chad's decision-making as much as his lack of arm strength and every other measurable. He continues to stubbornly throw into double coverage and just hoist up "jump-ball" fade passes to his WRs. Chad doesn't have the arm strength to throw the ball into tight windows. Our WRs basically have to be wide open (no DBs or LBs within 10 yards) in order for them to have any shot at making a reception.
i hope our players just flip the shit and throw mangini and cp under the bus, we need something to light a fire
The only guy we have who has an attitude, is Coles, and he's best buds with Chad, so I don't see it happening... Unfortunately.... Now is the time I miss Kevin Mawae... If he could run al Groh out of town after an 8-8 season, he would be eating Mangini alive right now
discipline that is going to lose his players and keep others away from coming here. Coles has already voiced his displeasure with the brutal regiment; how likely is it you think he will endure it again if he loses confidence in Mangini's ability to win. and it will only take one player to intimate that to infect the rest of the team and spread to other players in the league. losing players, especially our best, is not the answer. and, at least to me, it appears more likely that Mangini will isolate players from his philosophy than wrangle them in. a losing season can be attributed to a tougher schedule, missing a few pieces, year two of rebuidling, etc, etc. but a disasterous season like this is more indicative of the coaching IMO. there is nothing about Mangini that instills such confidence in me about him as you.
please continue to report on the press conference, i have no way of listening myself being in west virigina
Oh get off it with the Coles comments, almost every Coles quote I've seen was taken out of context and sensationalized compared to the actual video interviews where he's making the comments.
Sounds like you want a guy without a plan who can't handle adversity who will let the players roll over him. Didn't we have that and didn't a very good team fall into the crapper? Aren't we rebuilding from that mess right now after falling short. This team isn't that good and we are rebuilding. If you want to rebuild with a nice guy the players will crap all over than we should unload Mangini.
