It's not too soon when you start cutting those picks. Idzik and Harbaugh - their personalities, just don't see it mixing well - could be wrong.
There's no way Harbaugh comes to this team, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I don't care about his record with the 9ers, people want to say Rex walked into a ready-made contender in 2009, that 49ers team was fucking LOADED when Harbaugh showed up and they haven't added much since.
Except you have no idea how Harbaugh feels about Idzik. That's as meaningful as my claiming Idzik would be the reason why Harbaugh would come to the Jets because Idzik could give him the personnel choices he is lacking in SF.
I'll take the fact that he has proven to be a top tier nfl coach over the speculation that the jets locker room may dislike him.
12 picks in 2014 not all of them were going to make the team. 2013 was decent with all things considered.
That's fine, I will not. I've seen enough from this guy to believe that he'd be the perfect capper to an epic fucking decade. Maybe after he got fired, we could get Lane Kiffin to take over.
I have the weirdest feeling Harbaugh ends up here. Big market in New York, very solid defense, and a chance to go into his first year with a very high draft pick likely being a QB. I can see Woody paying him top dollar and him taking the job here. If Rex is leaving, this is the man I'd want. Such a good coach and worth every penny.
I understand that all of the picks won't make the team, but how many total are on the active roster and practice squad? About 5 of them? We didn't do a good enough job via the 2 drafts. 2013 was meh at best. Their best 2 players arguably on defense have been injured / suspended all season.
I personally can't stand this guy watching him crying on the sidelines but he can be an asset if we go after a young QB in the draft as far as developing. He seems like a no nonsense guy which we desperately lack these days.
not really, as I already posted several times, I think it would be best for the Jets to move on with a new coach and a new QB and just have a complete do over from the top of the organization to the bottom - clean house utterly - I just find the constant harping on about Ryan overblown and ridiculous (and boring) and if people think a change in coach is going to have a huge impact on performances then they are in for even more disappointment - this team wont do anything until it finds its true franchise QB, and if ryan goes somewhere where he has that then he will more than likely be very successful.
The Giants just matched up an offensive coordinator with the wrong personnel. Anyone whose watched Eli and his accuracy problems over the year would know a timing based offense is the wrong way to go. He needs to be running in a vertical play action offense rather than slants.
I have expressed my opinion on our Jets. Other teams are run by better organizations. I am sure the Giants have plans in place or have expressed in private or public the Giants performance is unacceptable. They will improve much faster than the NYJets believe me lol. When you compare the expressions on Tom Coughlins face of anger and disgust during the games the Giants have played I will bet he expresses those same emotions in a more serious tone than Rex and Idzik. Body language says it all.
People are harping on about Ryan because he's 15-29 in his last 44 games, is currently riding an 8 game losing streak, and has his team at 1-8 after managing to get them to 8-8 last season. His team has regressed dramatically and people are tired of his act. It's really quite understandable. We've crashed and burned in truly spectacular fashion since the glory days of 2009-2010. If you would have told any of us immediately after the heartbreaking AFC Championship game loss in Pittsburgh that we wouldn't see the playoffs in any of the next four seasons and would have two losing seasons along the way, we would have all been stunned. Rex's Jets have fallen apart. A culture change is in order. And to be honest, considering all of the empty boasting Rex engaged in when he got here, I think he's getting off pretty easy.
I entirely agree that other teams are better organized - the Jets haven't had a top tier QB ever whereas other teams have managed it multiple times - the fact the Jets are a shambles isn't new and isn't down to the identity of the coach as so many on here seem to think - they suck from the top to the bottom and if a change is going to be made it needs t be a complete overhaul of every aspect of the team - just dumping the coach in itself (whether its to get some drill sergeant type or a mr nice) isn't going to make any real difference to the problems with this team.
