If he is widely regarded as the best blocking TE, it should be easy to find links to such expert analysis that backs up your opinion. I won't hold my breath on that count. Did I say he can't catch? No, I said I give Baker the edge as a recieving TE. Baker's stats are clearly better, but I am not one to evaluate a player based soley on stats, I think that is often a very faulted way to gauge what a player's on field value is to the team he plays for. When people have a weak argument, they often overstate and exagerate the other person's opinion to attempt to undermine the discussion. That is what you are doing here. Who said he's always hurt? Not me. However, he has in fact missed 9 of his last 32 games with various injuries, so you are the one putting his injury history under a microscope. Baker has been durable, but did suffer one serious injury that cost him 8 games. With Graham, it's always something different. he in fact hasn't proven top be durable, now that you want to make that an issue. Graham is an above average TE. Nothing special. He'll never be in a pro bowl. Baker is an average TE. Baker is cheap. Graham will be expensive. You want to sign him. You are entitled to your opinion.
I mentioned before I felt he was a great blocker going by what I saw and what Pats fans said about him, but how and where is he regarded as the best?
Lets stop the Baker hate... Ignoring my name for a second, I think Baker is a solid TE just that he doesnt get much of a chance to really shine in the offense with all the offensive coordinators coming and going. He improved his blocking and did very nice as a weapon for Chad.
Baker and Graham in a two TE set would cause problems for a defense. I think they are simular. Most two TE set you would know who is staying in to block who is going out into the route. With those two, it can be either or for blocking or receiving.
Okay, just back it up then. I googled it, so I know what the answer to this is. But I want you to tell me how many articles, if you google "Graham best blocker", will tell you he is the best blocking TE in the league. Here's a hint: 1 article says he might be the best blocker on his team. 0 articles say he is the best blocker in the league. Please just stop arguing for the sake of arguing with people.
He's not the best blocker, and he's not the best receiver, but he's probably one of the top all around tight ends as far as overall ability. Few tight ends have his speed, size, blocking combination. He's much faster then Baker and a better blocker. There are only a few tight ends that I would take over him but he's not a great blocker.
http://www.nflplayers.com/news/news_release.aspx?id=2759 Oh, wait, thats his former teammate! He would say the same thing about Garrett Mills and David Thomas as well, right?
Judging by your posting record the last few days/weeks, I'd cut back on the rolling eyes and asshole attitude if I were you.
oh okay, well if Fauria claims it, then he has to be the best blocker. because it's Fauria. and he speaks for everybody. i guess. cheers
I like Baker. He isn't utilized a whole lot it seems. He doesn't get the ball thrown his way. But when he does, he almost always catches it. His blocking seems to have gotten better this year. No reason for Daniel Graham. I'd be fine with going after a lower-level TE to be our #2 and play in 2-tight end sets.
I don't know, I haven't watched hours upon hours of tape for every TE that played in the NFL this past season like you must have to make such a claim.
Yea, he's getting pretty crazy with his ridiculous claims. Maybe he just has that superior knowledge?
