That's ridiculous. Like a 8-8, 7-9 or 6-10 record makes THAT much of a difference, especially for a team that can't draft its way out of a paper bag. Some fans you guys are.
Just saying that Tebow is a "franchise" qb, even with the sarcastic quote, causes me to say: don't let the door hit you in the ass buddy. Be good. Take care, comb your hair!
so Im a bad fan for wanting to be a few draft slots higher by losing 2 completely meaningless games? please explain how being 3 or 4 slots lower helps the jets? if you can validate how being higher in the draft order vs winning 2 completely useless games makes sense i'll never post again.
I'm not interested in the draft position as a reason to lose, but I'd rather finish behind Miami and get Oakland & Tennessee next year than come second and get San Diego and Indianapolis.
For almost this entire season it seemed like the offense quit on the team. WTF is going on when Braylon Edwards is CUT & unwanted by the entire league .... then steps in & looks like the best WR on the field. Rex/Tanny have done such a poor job on the offensive side of the ball, we can't even tell if they've quit because they suck so much.
11 sacks! You guys realize 12 is the record for a single game right? 11 sacks means this team straight up quit, there's no way around that. I don't care about the loss, it's meaningless, it's how they lost that bothers me. 11 sacks is ridiculous...
I'm not validating anything, I'm simply saying I never root against my team. The only possible exception I can see making is if we're 2-13 and there's an obvious franchise quarterback sitting there. The fact of the matter is, there won't be a franchise player anywhere between 9-13, which is where the Jets are likely to draft between 8-8 and 6-10 AND, the Jets have proven that they are hit and miss, mostly miss, with draft picks. They've made one good draft pick since Mangini left, and that's Wilkerson. Jury is out on Coples, but he hasnt been an impact player so far. So what I'm saying is that drafting low middle or high middle makes no difference. I want to see my team win.
It's ridiculous to just look at a number and conclude something like that, and lazy analyzing on your part. They were blitzing every single down and Mcelroy was holding on to the ball for a very long time. The O line was doing their best but 5 guys can't block 7. It's also Mcelroys responsibility to change the protections at the line and as it was pointed out in yesterdays broadcast he wasn't doing that.
The jets didn't quit. They battled the Chargers The 11 sacks were the result of the Chargers game planning for a short passing game and a first time starter, and the Jets not adjusting. We know the offense needs a serious upgrade. That's not equal to a team quitting
I didn't see barely any Max protection plays called yesterday and they knew SD was going to blitz every down. That's not Gmac's fault, is he supposed to audible that protection in himself every play? I think not. And I only saw one guy push Moore back into Gamc's face, that guy is worthless. The Oline just didn't show up yesterday.
yes, I've seen every minute of every game. He's looking pretty good, but at best the jury is out on him. They've been playing the dregs of the league for the last month, you want to judge on that?
BTW this analysis is spot on and its the reason why you don't hear too many people killing McElroy this morning, after his first start. WE know that everyone loves to kill the Jets and they get kicked when they're down. Jet fans need to resist the temptation
actually Coples is turning out to be a great pick, we just need a speedy linebacker to complement him.
Many of the same people that are saying the Jets didn't quit were the ones insisting the Jets would win their last three games a few weeks ago. So do we suck or did we quit?
The sacks were on Mcelroy more than the O line. I guess Coughlin is a bad coach because the Giants are going out lying down. With playoff implications on the line.
While I am nowhere near done, I sympathize with the poster above. I understand what you are saying to him Armand, but the Jets rise to fall ratio is damn near bottom in the league. Since the SBs started I think only 2-3 teams have performed worse than the Jets. The Lions and Cards come to mind. Have to think about some others. Anyone?
