Maybe u should be running the team, why dont u send ur resume over to the JETS for GM? They could use a level headed fella like urself. On second thought, why dont leave the decision making to the professionals, it is their job u know. I mean, how do u know Clemmens would fall to the 3rd. And croyle??? Clemens is going to be much better the Croyle. The only thing I agree with u about is that I would have loved to have gotten Davis with our first pick.
This shows how little you know or how young you are. Cadigan was the LT at USC and was drafted to be the Jets LT. He sucked so bad they had to put him at guard. He wasn't all that good there either.
I have the right to have an opinion, and to question the moves of the JETS FO, if I dont agree with it. You on the other hand are a total hypocrite. In one breath, you ask how can I be making player judgements, and then in the next breath you say Clemens is going to be better then Croyle. Sound a bit hypocritical to you?
Geech.... I've been here since the stone age and really saw some stinkers. I love our #4 pick and when Cutler was off the boards then the Mangold was another great pick for the long term needs. Would like to find a RB in here today. IMLTHO Clemons is the 2nd best QB choice for our needs, Croyle is fragile and not as good an arm for ALL the throws so lets just wait till November before throwing out F's.
how can you title your thread "worst draft ever" and then go on to say fergy mangold and clemens all have chances to be solid pros????you make no sense...and your draft idea with vernon davis going first would have been way worse...clueless,wasted thread
The Round 5 (Pociask) and Round 6 (Coleman) picks are just jokes. Both are walk-on talent - we could have invited them to try-out without wasting valuable picks. Good players are still getting picked-up in Round 5 and 6, but obviously were are not picking them (McNeil/Eslinger/Haas/Bloom/Scott/Blue/etc). Picking up Bernstein in Round 7 will be a little redemption. Round 3, 5, and 6 were just disasters. I know I am going to get heat for all this, but feel we have been reaching like crazy throughout this draft, and have been picking up way too many players with serious injury history (Clemens/Smith/Coleman/Washington) that could have been picked up after the draft as walk-ons (Smith/Schlaegel/Coleman/Pociask)
Actually, they do. That's what happens when you know what the F your talking about. I like how the guys who thought our draft stunk are morons and the ones who thought it was great are sages. Dude I forgot more about football in the last 5 minutes then you'll ever know. They went with character guys over talent. Reach after reach from the third round on. (Although I did like the RB)I'm the same guy who didn't like the trade up for DRob and didn't like the Jolley trade. It seems to me that Tannenbaum took too much advise from Mangini on this draft.
dude, get over yourself. as a spectator there isn't that much to know about football that would make you such a more knowledgeable fan. and if you are talking game strategy and management, if what you knew was truly so significant you wouldn't be at a message board touting yourself you would be employed in some respect by a major football organization. the only difference amongst members of a message board is logic and emotion...some are more logical, rationale and reasonable and some more emotional and illogical, but when it comes to knowledge most of us are pretty much even. unless you truly believe having a vast knowledge of useless football trivia and remembering every player who has ever thrown on a jockstrap and what year that jockstrap was manufactured is really something you think needs to be bragged about. and I am not taking sides in your argument, merely taking offense to such a ridiculous statement.
wow, most were saying we had one of the best drafts, washington is the 4th was a steal, and im excited to see what brad smith will do
I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but the worst draft ever? Either you're really young or just overreact to everything. I can't tell you how these guys are going to help us in the future, but on paper most of the picks are really good.
I am here - just came back after night with friends - its called having a life - you should think of getting one and not just browsing the net all day. Its funny how all you folks that disagree with this original post are so dismissive/condescending/attacking. I have not heard any logical/well thought-out responses from any of you dismissive posters. Just a "your stupid", "your a moron", "your a pessimist", give me a response that requires some use of your brain - ie. based in some analytics, logic, etc. Keep drinking that Cool Aid - gulp, gulp, gulp. Its not a crime to use your brain and own analytical research to critique the draft and the JETS FO. They have made some massive blunders in the past (B.Thomas/D.Cadigan/B.Nagle/A.Becht/D.Robertson/K.Brady/etc), so its our right as a fan to criticize IF we believe they made a mistake (again) or took the wrong strategy. I am calling it here, but we will look back on this draft as having missed major playmakers (V.Davis, Cutler, Hawk, Huff, Addai, Leinart), and overeaching big time (I throw Ferguson under that category, as well as Clemens, E. Smith, Schlaegel, and Pociask).
You won't get a "well thought" response with a retarded statement like "this is the worst draft ever"...We clearly added some top notch players. Want to see a bad draft? Take a look at the one when we took a FB in the first round, 21 overall. That is BAD...
Is this guy another one of Rajensen/Fleming's screen names? Cause I think they used the cool aid thing a lot too. Anyways, I think you're reading only what you want to read. When your mind is as set as it is on the fact that the draft sucked, nothing anyone says will change that. I just wish that you would have enough sense to realize that all this bitching changes nothing, and that the most you can do right now is hope for the best.
Yeah, well I think it is really hard to judge a draft crappiest when compared to one where we take Kyle Brady in the first round.
Thanks, now I can add "retarded" to your repertoire of responses. Have you considered finishing school by any chance, it may help in your communication skills.
