This has been one shitty World Series. Maybe you think I'm saying this because I'm a Yankee fan, and I'm sure Mets fans are saying it too, but I honestly think this was a boring World Series.

It's techincally not over yet, but 2 outs away and I don't see the Tigers coming back...

Yes, it sucked. I only watched about seven or eight pitches the entire series. One of them was hit for a home run by Sean Casey.

The tv near my computer hasn't worked for the last two nights, so I don't even have the game on. It's great.

I made this prediction the day before the Series started.

So, the 83 win team in the National League manages to steamroll the champion of the supposedly invincible American League. If this postseason doesn't get people who continue to insist that "only the postseason matters" to see that the postseason in baseball is in fact a complete crapshoot, then nothing ever will.

And the Cardinals have won the 2006 World Series! Congrats, I guess.

... Now. How long until Spring Training?

damn! EVERY team i picked to win their series...lost. I thought Detroit was going to kill Stl. I thought the Mets were going to beat STL. I thought the Yankees were going to beat Detroit. Thought the Twins would win etc etc etc. Congratulations cardinals! Althought a painful end for NY fans, it was a pretty damn interesting post season IMO.

I did a little bit better.

Had Mets over Dodgers, A's over Twins, Cardinals over Padres, and Tigers over A's.

Was stupid with Yankees over Tigers, Mets over Cardinals, and Tigers over Cardinals.

I can't wait until Spring Training starts.... For now. J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!

It's been a fun 2006 baseball season. I came onto NYYFans for the start of the playoffs, but I followed the Yankees all season, and went through the ups and downs. But the season is officially over, and now we all must wait until Spring Training.

This is what you might call the contrarian position. I wouldn't expect it to work every time, but I do firmly believe the part about the postseason in baseball being highly random.

Hey, at least a wild card team didn't win it this time!

Crapshoot or not. The Cards are the best team in baseball. World Champs.

    Congrats.

World Series > Inter-league regular season

    NL > AL

 The NL is still vastly inferior to the AL, B/c the champ(in this case the WORST Champ I have ever seen) comes from a certain league does not make that league the best and you know that but b/c you have such an inferiority complex this makes you feel better.

I just wish detroit played half as bad against the Yanks as they did against SL and we might be celebrating right now.

Yeah, as if the Yankees would have gotten past anyone else.

The champs are the champs, in 2 years no one is going to remember that the Cards shouldn't have even made the playoffs, just that they won the WS.
