I agree with you on Marty. But I think what you're failing to see is that Cowher is another reincarnation of Marty. Same type of offense. Same frustrating shit.

I'm for firing a guy 24 hours after the season without having a replacement in the works immediately. He needed to go. The coaching process should be a long one unless someone like Cowher wants the job. Marty Schottenheimer better not happen!
Ya know Jack, Favre is my all-time favorite athlete. He needs to retire. The end of this season just showed that he's done. That would be much worse, indeed.
I'm not saying Cowher is the apex of football Godliness, but as far as this year, he's the very best candidate, by far. He'd have a better D than Marty, for sure. What I am saying is if you sell your boy out, one year shy of his contract expiring because he couldn't bring it to the next level, and then go get a guy like Marty, who is the epitome of missing the next level, I'd just be disgusted beyond repair.

Dumping Marty into a division with BB and BP/SS is a disaster waiting to happen. His son is as bipolar as they come, and then he's going to bring his brother in too? Can you imagine having to fire the 3,4,5 guys in your organization, even if you only wanted #3 to go? Or convincing 3 to fire 4 or 5 or both? Holy crap, this is a trainwreck waiting to happen.
